Wasn't there an update where Sakurai said he would post a future announcement on the dojo. I tried finding the update but I'm not sure where it is. Anybody have a clue or say it doesn't exist.
In four or five years, if Sakurai feels like making another Smash, he will put info on it there.

Technically, he already did one "future" update. He updated the site with more pictures when Brawl was released in Europe and Austraila. As someone else said, the site will probably be updated again when he's ready to announce a new Smash Bros.

i don't think sakurai wants to make another smash. if it happens, it will be made by only nintendo, which worries me. would they actually put the great graphics in, or they might screw with the gameplay. the only positive thing they'd be likely to do is improve the online play.

Not to mention that Sakurai said there were lots of stuff he forgot to put in Brawl that he would love to put in another Smash Bros game...

Yeah, Sakurai went from "I probably won't be part of the next Smash Bros game" in 2006 to "I probably won't be director of the next game but I'll still play in a role in it" in 2007 to "If Iwata asked me several years down the road to make another Smash Bros, I'd probably do it" in 2008. :D He's also mentioned a lot in recent interviews that he already has a lot of ideas that he'd like to do for another installment when the time comes.

He shouldn't promise things that he couldn't do. It was no where close to be as annoying as the constant delays.

Makes sense. Nintendo needs to start deciding release dates when the games are actually ready. These delays are ridiculous.

It was debunked both in March and in June by Sakurai himself when he said that downloadable content was not possible for Brawl and wasn't even thought of being of the Wii's limited storage.
