I'm not asking where you live exactly, but everywhere in the USA (atleast)
has something that people are deathly afraid of.
Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Blizzards...etc...
Whats your areas worst Natural Disaster, and what would you do IF it happened to you right now? Do you have an evacuation route to go to just in case? D:
Where I live, I have to deal with Hurricanes and Flooding ~_~

I took these pics Today At work, while it was raining/storming (As Usual)
It does this about every day. Bleh...
So, anyway, what do y'all deal with Yearly?
Earthquakes D:
A tornado ripped through this town on February 24, 2007 around 3:00 PM. Whenever a storm comes, someone says something about a tornado.
California= Earthquakes. Not like it matters. They are rare, and I really couldn't care less if one hit. My house it new and well built, it can handle it. The last one was about a 6.7, only one building miles away fell.
Hurricanes and flooding also. It's been raining a lot here lately...
In the Area where my job is, No tornadoes develop, but where I live
we have open fields.. (sugar canes) and what not, so a toranado can "more" easily develop Here then anywhere else in this part of Louisiana...
We even have a "Emergency Siren" that people can hear in a 35 mile radius letting us know of in coming danger... (it sounds like a long Winded Police Siren)
It's the SCARIEST thing to hear during a thunderstorm pitch black, No Lights...
...
I mean you DO NOT want to hear a siren during this time, or else.....
Your kind'a screwed...
It happened once... a tornado was present but it went in some other direction or something. It was 1 of the most scariest things that I ever went through...
5x's scarier then Hurricane Katrina...
I guess tornadoes and possibly blizzards.
Tornado, I'd go in the basement. Blizzard, I'd just stay inside, where I probably would be anyway if it was winter. :P
We also can't have basements for 2 reasons...
The basement would probably push the house down (soft soil),
and the 2nd reason is that it would Flood

That stinks. :(
I don't know...
ontario doesn't get many natural disasters...
But we did have SARS to deal with awhile back....

Yes, yes it does... it also sucks too.
:P
In the county I live in we just severe thunderstorms and the occasional tornado. Oh and we're in a severe drought right now. D:

This link says all...
There's a little something here in Baudette, MN that we call the "1910 Fire." It was a forest fire that pretty much completely destroyed the nearby towns of Graceton and Pitt and erased Spooner off the map, which is now rebuilt but is now just another part of Baudette.
There were 27 human deaths in Baudette/Spooner, and there's a mass burial site of the victims in the cemetery here.
That's the only famous disaster around here. We get tornados every so often and the occasional flash flood. There's some pretty severe flooding further West, in the Red River Valley.
Mostly just thunderstorms, sometimes severe.
Rarely floods, and even rarer is hail.
Tornadoes, mostly.
Don't have to worry about floods because my house is on the top of a hill.
Of course, a few months ago we had like 6-7 earthquakes in two months...
I'm about 2 hours away from NYC, and we get pretty bad blizzards.
Otherwise, nothing bad. Our state is like the prime location to live if you want to experience all of the seasons equally :P
I personally deal with rapists and stalkers on a daily basis. My region is mostly prone to tornadoes or severe thunderstorms. That's the extent of any disaster though.
What the intercourse people? Do you all live in the midwest?

Because extreme blizzards happen two hours above NYC in the midwest.

Snowstorms during winter. Lots of them.

That sounds very very pleasant...
Except I can't stand the cold weather... UGH...
Tornadoes. D:
We get a lot.
Earthquakes are all we get. They come out of nowhere. O_o
But when it's not too strong, it's fun to be in it. :D

Thats what I always think. The 6.7 was even fun. I was in a store, and everybody was freaking out and screaming, I was supprised at first, but then I really didn't care =P

I rolled off my bed once. D:
We get hurricanes here all the time.
So much so, that if it's not a strong Category 3 or higher, we couldn't care less.
They're actually kind of exciting when they're weak because we get a few days off from school and it's kinda cool to look outside (if we don't have shutters up). I know, however, if it's a strong 4 or 5, I better get the hell out of here before it comes. Luckily, hurricanes don't come out of nowhere.

I didn't really have time to lay down D:
The only natural disaster i ever remember here is a couple of blizzards every winter...other than those, the weather and life here is pretty much perfect. :)
Earthquakes and fires are the main ones in California that seem to occur quite a lot.
Where I am (Chicagoland area), we get strong storms, tornadoes and blizzards... Though they're usually not that bad. The bad stuff always seems to miss the East side of town I live in... Like this tornado that hit the West part.

Hurricanes, and severe thunderstorms every few days in the summer.
We are also due for a massive Earthquake, and when I say massive I mean it would probably level my house its supposed to be that strong. ;-;

What do you do in Earth Quake situations?
Where do you go? Especially if the whole entire area is affected like that?
I dare an earthquake to happen here. :D
uhh, the winnipeg flood of '97...
>_>
seriously. nothing else.
I don't consider blizzards to be a natural disaster, considering how many of them we get... it's not like anyone dies in a blizzard unless they're a dumbass and decided to drive during one (seriously. wtf? :-\) or if they're mentally ill and decided to take a walk outside (still doesn't happen... at all).
uhh, it was really icy for a few days this year... school canceled because of it lol.
also, extreme cold (hit 50ish below this year).
Nothing really... mild floods occasionally.
Country music.
There's a tornado warning here. D:
I've never been in a tornado.

No idea, we are surrounded by trees too. D:
Really though, it probably won't destroy my house, :P but I imagine millions and millions of dollars in damage will ensue.
For the first time in forever, my area has been getting tornado warnings, and iirc one touched down recently. Other than that, just alot of rain.
The only remotely bad thing that happens here is somewhat bad snowstorms in the winter, I guess. It can get very bad, but we've adapted to it so it isn't as much of a big deal.
Tornados and severe thunderstorms.
And sometimes ice storms.

Earthquakes. Unlike other natural disasters, they can happen unexpectedly so you gotta be ready for anything. If one happened right now I'd go under my bed, or if I thought I had enough time I'd run outside. Nothing could possibly happen outside since it's really flat with nothing that could possibly fall there.

No. Nothing is worse than Soulja Boy.
It'd be either Tornadoes, or flooding. Ever heard of the floods of either '93 or '08?
Heck, even here we get earthquakes once in a blue moon (that's slang here for rarely...).
High winds can occasionally pose a problem with some of the old trees the cities here like to keep around as much as possible...

Flooding and tornadoes are the biggest here.
Oh, and also the threat of a deadly earthquake. Yay for living on one of the world's most powerful faults. \o/
I guess crazy out of control noreaster's that cause major flooding.
there was a tornado warning a few days ago, which is really unusual for my area.
5.7 magnitude earthquake.
Oh, wow... I feel so lucky where I live (Pennsylvania). We barely get any hurricanes or flooding (if any), and the worst is probably a big thunderstorm with scary lightning bolts :( :( :(

It'd probably have to be floods. One time we got a intercourse ing tornado warning.
The last flood I remember was back in... 98 or 99. My friend and I had to walk through it on our way home from school. Well, I was walking through it, my friend was doggy-paddling through it.
