As in, did you pick up HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray when they first came out? What about HDTVs?
I have little money, making that impossible really. Plus I like to wait till all the problems get sorted out ^_^
still don't have HD of any sort nor do i have blu-ray
nor do i care
No. My family only has regular dvd and regular tv. I don't even have cable or satellite.
My parents waited on HDTV's for a while until they were cheaper (even know they only have the big screen).
I do technically have an "HD" tv, but it's just an average size tv and it's only noticeable during sports events.
As far as Blu-Ray, I got a PS3, so yea.
Depends on the technology.
no, because early adopters always get wasted.
perfect example is anyone who bought an HD DVD player, a Beta Max player, or perhaps a Virtual Boy...or other countless failed electronic devices.
anyway I have a problem with the whole HD thing in general because there are too many variations.
First there is the TV
Plamsa, DLP, PLP, front projection, rear projection, LCoS, SED, OLED, LCD......blah blah blech....Until that list is shortened and one or two definitive types of TVs are chosen, only then will I chuck my CRT.
Then there is the service. Is HD included?, Do I need to upgrade this and that and what not....will it all be letter boxed.....It's funny I see n00bs all the time bragging about having an HDTV, and Then I look at it and see that they are really just bragging about watching standard cable on an HDTV.
The branding of "HD" There is HD added onto everything, even HD Radio...which I don't get as HD is supposed to be picture. But anyway. Until channels drop the "HD" they just added to the end of their name (ABCHD) I won't bite.
Its a feature that will just become standard (ex: the Remote, Color, Cable Ready) so It will be perfected once people forget about it, and just call all HDTVs, simply TVs, because HD won't be a big deal.
Not really. I still don't have an HDTV. I usually wait a little bit for things.
I think we have an HD TV, no Blu-Ray though.
Nope, I don't have either. And I like to call "HD" "hard drive" even though it's not what it stands for.
I do have an HDTV, but I didn't get it for that.
I just needed a flat screen TV for my room and apparently it had the power to show channels in High Definition.
I didn't even know about it. >_>
For the most part I'm not an early. I do not yet have a HD TV or a blue ray player. I did however get my wii and opening minding night but other than that no I'm not an early adopter.
I was one of the people that said DVDs would never catch on.
Nope, still have an old regular TV and DVD player. Even a VCR player that is rarely used.
I buy everything new that comes out. I can't stand having anything old D: Or old people... >_>

well they didn't initially, when they first came out in the late '90s no one cared at first, then they finally overcame VHS only in 2003...so for a while you were right.
Haha, no.
I'm sticking with my current setup until they cease to work/become obsolete.
