Title: So if you could choose one song...
Post by: Eizweir on August 29, 2008, 05:29:02 PM
If you could choose one song to be an epic/awesome/amazingly hard credits song, what would you have it be?
Mine would be Heartbreak Armaggeddon by DragonForce, of course.

Nottingham Lace by Buckethead. Almost anything with Buckethead on guitar would do, but that's my yop pick.

And the last thing Guitar Hero needs is more DragonForce.

Not even their new album? D:

Just listen to their old album. It's the same exact experience. But, musical opinions aside, I just think we've had enough at this point. Four songs is plenty.

Neversoft is probably going to throw one into GH:WT just to piss us off.

On-topic, I agree, anything by Buckethead is great for a final credits song.

Dragonforce does sound the same with almost every song, but you can't deny that there songs make good impossible songs. (Especially when neversoft overcharts It!) And that's a band you won't see in rock band anytime soon, so...

And If they continue with the band game thing, I doubt to see how buckethead will work, and watching a custom of It, nottingham lace seems repetitive except for 3 solo's.

Personally, If I were to get a really hard song as the impossible song, I'd probably get a band of people (Like a really good guitarist from one band, a drummer from another, and so on) And get a long piece made, so It's long, and hard (Kind of like a freebird meets TTFAF) But I think me, as in me a minority, will only think that as a good idea.

Like a supergroup? You could probably take a song from one of Les Claypool's side projects and make it successful. I know he's worked with Buckethead in that sense before.

Or you could just use Dream Theater.

Because Dream Theater is that awesome.

I'd say Acid Rain, if it wasn't an instrumental. I think. I've only heard it live.

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, as I've said before. The entire 42-minute humdinger.

42 minutes? @_@ Failing at the near end would suck. Well, forgot bout dream theater in my post, but yeah, It would be a bit boring having a dragonforce/buckethead song as the final credits song when they were already the hardest/impossible song on disc in a game. I haven't listened to a lot of dream theater, but I can see that they have pretty long songs which would be good.

Yeah, kinda like a supergroup, and that could be a good idea there (Taking a project and making It into something better and more suiting, that is)

"Surgical Sound Specimens from the Museum of Skin" - Fantômas

It would be more of a joke than anything, but it'll teach you to keep on your toes :D

or if you prefer a serious answer

"Gong" - JAM Project.  Best jrock song EVER.

Probably Tetragrammaton by The Mars Volta, since it's 17 minutes long. :3

Heroes of Our Time by Dragon Force even though I don't like the song it would just be really hard.
I want American Idiot in, that song is so much faster than everyone thinks with the power chord changing is intense.

So now what we know what the credits song is, does anybody else think Pull Me Under was a little...disappointing for a credits song?

best ending songs I can think of for each instrument:
Tommy the Cat - Primus (Bass)
Albaquerque – Weird Al (Vocals)
The curse of the Castle Dragon – Paul Gilbert (Guitar)
Starchild – Wintersun (Drums)
The Glass Prison – Dream Theater (Band)

Well, at least the song didn't blow unlike TTFAF, but tbh, even tho It's a great song, especially after seeing the leaked setlist, I found it disappointing.

It's a pretty good song, but way too easy for the final credits song.

Stairway to Heaven wouldn't be hard, but it would fill the length of the credits roll.
