Many people, such as myself, like to get their "caught" count on their pokédex very high. I want to know how you do that.
-------------------------------------
I catch all the lowest evo form of every pokémon I can and then evolve them (or breed if I'm unable to catch the pre-evo), I like to make the game more fun by leveling them up instead of catching every un-caught pokémon I see. Then when I am out of available catchable pokémon, I use GTS. Then when I am unpatient enough to wait for people to have the right pokémon, I use Action Replay (only to catch, not level up).
In the past games, I just caught whatever I didn't have. I don't care enough in Pearl to bother.
Dude, use action replay. Yeah it's cheating but it's just a game. 8)

Dude, SHUT UP!!!!!!! We are actual people who enjoy in completing a task rather
than just hacking.
Oh, btw, I will complete my Pokedex one day.

But if you don't enjoy a game by following its own rules, why bother playing it?
I don't even think i've ever completed a Pokedex :-\
I just catch most of them, and the ones I can't get I get in trades or the GTS.
I catch most of them, some of the ones that level up at a higher level I will catch it's evolved form

Done ;) You need friends in the right places.
I usually go right down the Pokédex. First I go for every Pokémon I can just catch right away, and then I start from the top again and evolve anything I couldn't catch.
