Title: Store names that end in -smart
Post by: Java on August 31, 2008, 10:22:23 AM
Some of those stores that end in -Smart always leave me wondering how to pronounce them.

Take Petsmart, for example.
Is it: Pets Mart or Pet Smart.

How about Brandsmart?
Brands Mart or Brand Smart.

What do you think?

Usually, it starts out being *insert store name here*'s Mart, but it's warped into saying smart.

I say Petsmart.

Normally it depends on the word before the "smart" for me.
I say Pet's Mart, because, well, it's a shop for pets/pet stuff

Brandsmart could be either just depending on what you choose...etc.

I usually say it as one whole word. Petsmart.
Brands-Smart...I guess I would say it like one whole workd too. Brandsmart.

I have a pretty good feeling those names are made to confuse us.

I won't have it. I give them new names. Petsmart is now Poodle Parlor.

I pronounce it Pet Smart.  I never heard of Brandsmart.
