Title: Download Help
Post by: Java on August 31, 2008, 09:44:35 PM
I'm trying to download the songs that I requested, which sonicdude uploaded, however, due to me not understanding WinZip at all, I'm having trouble.

When I downloaded them, it took me to the WinZip thing, and I'd like to get them to play through iTunes.

Please help!
I suck with computers. :(

Um, the files you downloaded were probably sent in a zip file, which is why it took you to WinZip. Just select the 'Extract to Desktop' choice and the files should appear in a usable format. Copy and paste those files into iTunes (not the folder, but the songs themselves) and you should be set.

All right so I extracted the files.

If I send the folder to the recycle bin, will the songs still work? Because I remember something similar happening with some other songs.

Great, now iTunes doesn't feel like opening. >_>

So, what can I do to keep the songs, but not have them appear on my desktop?

The last thing I need is more icons. >_>

Ughh...I feel like an idiot right now.

Extract the files to where you want via Extract To or just select those two files if they came together...

or
(http://i38.tinypic.com/ngynmg.png)
If one is below the other and hold Ctrl IF one is between some things like .PNG's
See the Cursor?  That's the window where you will drop them off.
File > Add File to Library.  Browse to where you dumped them and use Ctrl to select mutliple music files or import 1 by 1 if you fancy ;)  (File > Add Folder to Library IF you've created a folder to put your songs in)

This is why I was hesitant on posting this...

Anyway, I think I've got it all figured out from the previous posters.
Thanks anyway.

If i have trouble, I'll be sure to look at your post.

Winace, WinRAR, and WinZip suck balls.

7-Zip is the best one around. Anyone who uses something different is a failure at life and death, similar to an emo.

WinZip sucks. WinRAR is garbage.

7-Zip is the way to go.
