As you can see from that slide show plastic bags are harming the environment all over the world! And our government is to cheap to do anything about it.
What have you/friends/family done to help protect the environment?
I shop at places like BJ's where they don't use plastic bags at all.
GO GREEN 08'
I don't do very much to help the environment... :P
I recycle cans and bottles (Well, my parents do :P) but thats it.
I recycle cans, bottles, paper etc...
Hmmm, my Linkification should've linked that....................
Anyway, I dun help the environ.
I've done diddily-squat.
I do whatever I can to help the environment.
I recycle bottles, aluminum cans, and paper, and I try to get others to.
It annoys me when people don't take the extra 2 steps to recycle their water bottle.
I went to San Francisco over the summer and I thought they're "no plastic bags" law was pretty cool.
People are pretty environmentally friendly over there.
So yeah, I do my part.
;D
EDIT: I forgot to mention that my school is the first in the area to "go green".

good job
I commend you and your school's hard work
I don't do anything.
I'm building a bunch of ships so we can fly away to new planets and ruin those.
I recycle whatever we can in our area.
Some plastic, cardboard, paper, cans.
That's really about it...

It could be that all the people who work in the government are too much in debt from all the crap they invest in to do anything worthwhile. Anyway, the planet is just going to be enveloped by the sun someday.
We aren't doing jack poop to the Earth.
Maybe we're just part of the Earth's plan, and this was all supposed to happen...
It'll be called "Earth plus Plastic".
At my place we recycle cardboard, glass bottles, plastic bottles, cans, etc.
2 of our toilets are low-flow
and we use rakes and shovels instead of gas powered blowers.
but mostly because we're cheap...
i litter and use areosal spray air freshener to cover the smell of my areosal spray hair spray and dump my oil in the gutter
My school has everyone recycle their paper, including the staff.
I recycle stuff.
I do a lot to reduce my family's carbon foot. I recycle plastic bag's, aluminum can't, tin can't, paper, and thin cardboard boxes like the king rice comes in (my local recycling center don't take stuff like pizza boxed). I also do stuff turn off light when I'm using them, turn off the TV when I leave the room, walk and ride my bike when I can, car pool, and I'm trying to get my parents to fill the air in there tire's more. All the little electronic thing's around the house that are on when they don't need to be use a lot of power. Turn off the computer when your not using it, unplug your phone or DS charger when you not using them, and only wash full load's of cloth. Doing stuff like this are great way's to reduce your impacted. Also thank you for posting this. I will talk to my mom about using cloth bag's
What is this "recycling" that you speak of?
I only recycle paper.
But I don't get a plastic bag if I'm just buying a game or a magazine or something.
Recycling uses more resources than it saves. Way to go, America!
Landfills aren't even close to filling up and have yet to pollute almost anything near them, not to mention they're being buried over and turned into nice parks and even golf courses that you wouldn't even know were once landfills. Way to lie to the public, America!
Recycling doesn't even benefit us financially, save for aluminum. Yay, debt is cool, America!
Ironically, recycling plants release a rather large amount of pollutants from smokestacks.
YAY AMERICA
