Well, neither of the three companies have a mascot, but everyone associates Master Cheif (Halo) with Microsoft, Mario with Nintendo, but Sony doesn't have that one franchise, Sony has a bunch of different franchises which are all great, but none are genre defining and as popular as Halo and Mario games.
Sony's mascot is Toro.

The mascot used to be Crash Bandicoot, until he got sold to a company that distributed him to Nintendo and Microsoft consoles as well. Now the Sony mascot is Jak, from Jak and Daxter.
They don't really have a mascot. It could be Jak or Ratchet from Jak and Daxter and Ratchet And Clank.

Crash or Spyro used to be considered Sony's mascots....but well now they went AWOL I guess..
Solid Snake started on MSX, then NES and GBC...and is now pretty much a Sony exclusive franchise save for that GCN game and his appearance in Brawl...
The Katarmari guy is made by Namco but he could work....
There is that guy from those Ape Escape games...

Sly Cooper works
then there is Ratchet and Clank....
or Cloud from Final Fantasy VII, the FF series is really only Sony from VII upwards though...(with a few exceptions...but I'm no FF guru)

If I do recall, I believe their "kiddy-ish" mascot is in the terms of ape escape. They still make games for it in jap. It also has/had it's own anima show (dunno if it ended yet) which also in some episodes cameo'd the psp. I think it's the only series that started out on the PS1 and stayed put on sony.
However... Like others have stated it is a really touchy subjet.
I'm just throwing this out there but I always used to play Sly Cooper and he seems like a pretty good mascot. Good not the best :O
