I always love seeing how other cultures interpret and change American culture and icons. Pepsi Cola had an awesome mascot in Japan during the mid to late 90's named Pepsiman, and the entire line of commercials advertised Pepsi through a series of helping American stereotypes get Pepsi.
Here's a compilation of commercials:

Now, an interesting thing is that not a single Japanese person was ever in these commercials, and even the design of Pepsiman himself came from a Canadian. :O
Pepsiman also appeared in a Sega fighting game where his special ability was to "quench one's thirst" and even in his own game which is kind of like Paperboy, Back to the Future, and Crash Bandicoot mixed. It also has the best boxart ever.

Wow, all of a sudden, I really want a Pepsi. Weird... ::)
Such a great removed image.
He's all futuristic and stuff
That game actually looks kinda good.

Pepsiman gives free Pepsi to people in need of it.
But unlike Kool-Aid Man, he won't ruin your house. :P
