Title: Franchises that you once loved, but now do not.
Post by: Linkman on September 17, 2008, 04:22:04 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right place or not, but it certainly is the only board that will get a reply..
I don't make many threads, so yeah...

Anyways, I'm pretty sure we've all had at least one.
I've had a few anyway.

Crash Bandicoot is one that I liked that used to be good, and now it's being run by some idiots who are trying to hard to make it appeal to people.  It has completely lost all of its references to the older games, and it doesn't even look the same anymore.  Same thing goes for Spyro the Dragon, it was also one of the best platforming games and now its run by the same company as Crash if I recall correctly.  Also, Banjo-Kazooie is on the edge of being really good, or killing itself.  If I ever do get a 360 I will try it out, I hope it hasn't strayed to far away from the platforming element of the series.  And as of now, I pretty much don't appreciate Nintendo as much as I used to, and I know I'm not the only one.  I don't hate Nintendo, I just feel they're completely ignoring their true fans, just to get some older people to "have fun exercising"

So, what about you?

Spyro is my main one. Those games went downhill after the PS1.

Definitely Spyro, it became crap as it progressed, but I have hope it will one day return to its' former glory. Sonic is another, I can't stand half the games, Rush and other fast paced games help, though...and the RPG might save it, but this year will seal Sonics fate, imo.

I'm not really sure. I'm mostly a Nintendo person, and most of their main games are still good. Except Star Fox Command blew. But other than that, I don't know. I guess I'll say Spyro. I played the original, then some new one where for some strange reason David Spade is a dragonfly. That was kind of weird...

I hate Spyro these days.

Whose idea was it at Sierra to have Elijah Wood voice Spyro and David Spade voice Sparx?  :|

I tried so hard to play the GBA/PS2 games, but I just couldn't. Even Ratchet and Clank couldn't fill the void.

Kingdom Hearts. Square took advantage of the popularity and murdered all that made the first game and COM great.

I must agree with you on that, the whole storyline basically killed itself off by adding all those extra unneeded characters.

The game is basically an unexplainable storyline with a lot of buttonmashing.

Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Rayman, and Pokemon.
Ubisoft sucks anyway, all they make are Raving Rabbids game which got stupid after the first one.

I really just either want Sonic to die or get sold.
