I am having a lot of trouble with my current video converter program (Sansa Media Converter) and wold like to know if there is a converter out their that you guys would recommend.
I am looking to get something from .flv to a Sansa compatible format... Mpeg 4, AVI (although this one doesn't seems to want to work right now...) etc.
MediaCoder?
It works sometimes, but not with mkv's, and I've had problems where it freezes up while doing the post-transcoding "muxing" thing. You have to use AlltoAVI to get it to AVI and then convert from there.
Best audio settings are Nero Encoder - LC-AAC 128kbps
You could use MP4v and LC-AAC Audio with mediaCoder, but MC is having some really odd issues with mp4 formats it seems.
Use Videora iPod converter to convert to an .mp4. Small file sizes, and much faster than MediaCoder.
Despite the iPod name, Videora works with all mp3 players and software.

Right now I'm using Download Helper from Firefox because it comes with a converter...
So far, I can get from flv to wmv so I think the problem has to do with the Sansa conversion program... although it says its supposed to read wmv's. D:

from what I understood when I used a Sansa, Sandisk mp3 players basically make you use the Sansa Media Converter.

Ah well, I'll work with it a bit I guess.
It freezes at 100% conversion... its really weird.

You just have to wait, and you might have to do a complete power cycle on your mp3 player and restart the program. It's a huge pain in the ass, and it's the only reason I don't like Sandisk. :(
Total Video Converter.
It's awesome.

Tried it... although I haven't power cycled the computer yet. D:
It will get to 100% conversion, and then in the writing bar it sticks at 49%.
It happens to quite a few people apparently... but the weird thing is I have already put videos on using the program. :(

Total Video Converter.

It's called Total Video Converter for a reason. I don't know what it can't convert.
Also that converter says it can convert .avi but it can only convert a certain type of .avy (I can't think of which one off of the top of my head)
erightsoft super converter? D:
Supposedly its a problem with my drivers/firmware which I am updating now.
Still doesn't explain how I id it before...

Sucks for Subtitles, but it's somewhat good for obscure formats.
I just Tried MediaCoder again, and its working with mp4 videos.

Ah. Usually you have to either power cycle the mp3 player (HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN UNTIL IT'S TOTALLY OFF) or unplug it and plug it back in. You have to hold the button for about 10 seconds for it to turn off completely. Otherwise it's just "sleeping".

I decided to try it on another cmputer, and it worked.
But only for 1 video.
Now the same thing happens.
Will call customer later. :(
