I store them horizontally, because when you stack things vertically and want something from the bottom of the stack, it all falls over.
What about you?
games vertically in a DVD rack, DVDs horizontally on a shelf
Games are in a vertical rack slotted horizontally, in alphabetical order and grouped by system (GCN on bottom, Wii on middle, DS on top). N64 games are all jumbled up in the mess under my TV in the cabinet, and I don't know where half of my GB games are.
As for movies, I don't buy many DVD's. At all. So the few I have are just grouped together under the bigger TV.
I store almost all of my movies and gc games in a dvd tower. Well, two different ones: one for movies, one for games/individual tv show dvd's. Although i store those movies that have the larger than normal boxes and season sets of shows in my book case. I store my gameboy games in a box, and my ds games with my CD's.
On a shelf in my room, I store all my games and CDs. The DVDs are on a shelf in the family room next to the TV with the DVD player.
On my shelves. Standing up, alphabetically.
My NES and SNES games are stacked (still alphabetically). My N64 games are in a row standing up. Kinda like if they were in a filing cabinet.
Everything in my house is alphabetized.
EVERYTHING.
I have my Wii games stacked vertically because that's the only way they'll fit.
My GCN and PS2 games are horizontal in a drawer are for my N64 games, I have them squeezed into the same drawer into a row of 2 cartridges stacked on top of each other.
Vertically. On a book shelf. Categorized by console. And then alphabetically.

Thats about half of them, if even that, it might be a third of our games.(only 6 of those cases are DVD the rest of them are games)
My DS cases are all in this little container that's exactly the width of the box. I'm out of room, though, so I might end up just storing them in a drawer. As for GCN/Wii/N64/SNES games, I have an entertainment center thingy downstairs in the basement with SNES games in one drawer along with 100 or so issues of Nintendo Power, N64 games in the bottom drawer along with random crap, and GCN/Wii games all crammed into the top drawer along with Wii/GCN accessories.
I don't. :-\
They are in random piles everywhere around my house. :-\
