Sorry, but it's not happening.

To get the game onto Xbox LIVE they had to have the input from 4 companies.
Rare- The Developers gave the OK
Microsoft- Who owns Rare they obviously gave the OK
Activision- They own the rights to the franchise and gave the OK
Guess which company is holding it up?
Nintendo- The original publishers has not agreed to this.
Nintendo has been trying to get GoldenEye onto the Wii, and didn't want Microsoft to have it.
It's still possible to get the remake with better graphics and online, but right now it's a no.
with bomber man on every "virtual store" on every console, why can't they make this on both Live and the VC?
IDK, but here is a link to VC-Reviews on Goldeneye Locked In Legal Limbo (http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/08/goldeneye_locked_in_legal_limbo)
It's not even Nintendo, it's just Iwata being a vagina cleaning device. NoA and Miyamoto (the ONE guy you do NOT mess with in this company) said it was okay, when Iwata came and didn't understand how it could be on BOTH. Basically he was a greedy bastard and only wanted it on VC.
Seriously, that was the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of my opinion of Iwata. Miyamoto has earned some screw ups like Wii Music, but I was worrysome of Iwata since he took over the job. Yea he's more modern than Yamauchi was, but god darn do something people actually want you to do an cooperate with someone else for once! *ugh*

Frankly, it should be on the VC, at the very least, with XBL. Nintendo's console made the game what it is, and so did their company (Rare, was, at the time), thus, if Microsoft isn't willing to share, why should Nintendo?

They were willing to share. It would be on XBLA first (since it's easier to port with their interface) but it'd be on VC almost immediatley afterwards. Iwata was the greedy one X_X;;

Plus, he probably skipped over the fact that every other Rare game would have been on the VC exclusively if Goldeneye 007 was on the 360, and even Goldeneye would be on the VC too.

They were trying to agree on a new remake with updated graphics and online for XBLA, and an exact remake for VC, but it obviously didn't happen.

Does this affect Nintendo putting DK64 on the VC? Because I reaaaally want to play that game.
They should just remake it. Nintendo and Microsoft and have it. Put one on WiiWare and one on the 360.

No, since Nintendo owns the Donkey Kong license, they can do whatever they want with it...after all the Donkey Kong Country games were also made by rare...
