Do you go to school dances?
I go sometimes. But homecoming is this Saturday, and I won't be going to that, for a few reasons.
1. $10? RIP-OFF.
2. Semi-formal. I don't want to be all dressy...
3. Heh heh...no girlfriend...don't want to look like a loser.
I'd probably go to regular dances though.
Last one I went to was freshman dance/homecoming thing when I was a freshman in high school. It was horrible and dances are stupid...
I'm homeschooled. TAKE THAT B****ES! Well, when I go to an actual High School, I would try to NEVER go to dances for a few reasons.
1: I can't dance. I. Can't. Freaking. Dance.
2: I'd be clueless as always.
3: Uh...I don't have a girlfriend...
Nope. In middle school i went to the canteens they had (which where like dances) but i only went to hang out with my friends, but i generally don't. Here's an example of why...
At band camp this year one of the nights they had a DJ, and i almost got to dance with one of my friends (who i kinda have a crush on..) but i didn't.. since as i was about to... i slipped on the floor and fell, and then the song ended.... yeah...
Taken there aren't many in my high school besides Junior Prom and Senior Prom, yes I do. In middle school there were more and I was at every one I could be at. I love electronic dance music, and it's the closest I can realistically get to a rave, so...I go crazy.
NEVER.
1. oh hey guys let's recommend all the rap songs
2. okay play that rap song again since its the only song we know how to dance to
3. im just waving my arms here, not really dancing
4. ANOTHER RAP SONG YAYYYY
5. oh looks girrlllsssssss
6. okay that didnt work, lets get out of here
Meh... our Homecoming is rave themed... and really I feel like passing this one up.
I need rest this weekend...

uhh...wow, our school dances are not like that at all D:
In fact, the DJ's our school hires usually make rap off-limits except for a few songs to satisfy the idiots.
Yep. I always reccomend actual dance music, not intercourse ing rap.
The DJ that we always get normally only plays Technologic ~ Daft Punk when I suggest songs, though.
No one likes Technologic ;-;

I went to one in 8th grade. For a description said school dance, see above. I'm never going to one again.
Never. They always look lame and it'll be all rap songs played.
Nah, not many students do go to our dances.
I usually go, but I don't really dance.

thats EXACTLY how my senior prom was.
HMM.
I go. Sometimes. But I end up sitting down and watch people go crazy and write behavior/dance patterns in my notebook. o3o; I enjoy watching people like their some type of weird specimen.
But then theres always...seems to be stalking me... Whenever I go to one. So I just kinda hide behind some friends and cling onto their back. >_>; But I'm not so much into the dancing. I don't want to look like an wiggling or a jumping idiot in a nice dress. I rather just sit and watch. xD;
I never have a girlfriend for dances, and it's more fun without them cuz there's no person to tend to. I can do whatever the heck I want, and it's awesome. Especially cuz all my friends (majority of which are often girlfriend-less) also go, we just do whatever the heck is fun. We make fun of the overly rap musics being played and respond to the pop songs with a HAY HAY YOU YOU I DONT LIKE YOUR SONG CHOICE.
The worst dances I've ever had are those where I had a girl to dance with. Something stupid always happens. So just go, have fun, and stop caring about the people who won't even notice or care you lack a date.
I also cannot dance in any way whatsoever unless it's on plastic arrows. Just jump around and make conga lines. It works with any social group whatsoever, they just jump on anyway.
Once I just WENT, and stopped caring about a reputation not worth trying to uphold, dances became amazing.
I went to a few here and there. Sadly my school had horrid tastes in music. I wouldn't have minded even if they played some hip-hop, since that's at least something I can dance to. But it was nothing but rap, with the occasional techno song thrown in (you got one per dance if you were lucky).
But now I can go to clubs and have fun whenever. And hear music I can actually dance to.
Fuck no.

thats EXACTLY how my senior prom was.
except 99% of the rest was country
and the other song was One More Time (requested by yours truly)
My school doesn't really have any dances except for Homecoming and Prom.
I'm going to Homecoming for sure and I can't go to Prom yet.
I love to dance, so I'm going for sure. ;D
However, I never went to my middle school dances.
Trashiest s*** ever.
EDIT: You think $10 is a rip-off?
Our Homecoming Dance is $55!

Well I would imagine Prom would be more expensive.
Never went to a school dance before. I can't dance.....at all.
I don't know if I should go to my senior prom or not.
most of the time, if I have the extra money....
our prom was 40 bucks, the meal beforehand was 20 bucks.
the djs sucked ass, and only had hiphop poop and country crap
Once, and never again. :| EVER!
Everyone goes to thier own clique and that's the whole thing. There's barely evem any dancing! And it's all hip-hop and rap music. I dislike those heavily.

you cant dance to hip-hop and rap. sorry. fail.
the absence of any actual dance music is what makes most of us cry.
electronic music is called dance/electronic for a reason. it's made specifically for dancing. enjoying electronic music on the side is a side effect of liking dance music.
top40 poop isnt the best stuff thats out there. the best stuff thats out there gets no media coverage, and i'm glad its like that. otherwise they become the new Jonas Brothers.
Umm, yes, you can dance to hip-hop. How stupid can you be to think that you can't? If you couldn't, then why do people do it all the time?
And besides, you can dance to anything.
Guys, just go to your dances and go meet some women, build up your self-esteem, that'll make getting a woman a lot easier ;)
Anyways, I only went to one dance in high school. I ended up grinding with my date's hot friends hahaha

Actually you can, but only if your good (Which I'm not. Not at all.), and I REALLY dislike Hip-hop and rap to a degree.
You don't need skill to dance. All you have to do is move to the beat. :\

Nope, I'll probably die alone. D=
Dancing isn't hard. Just find a beat and move to it.
And the only time I enjoy hip-hop is probably when I go dancing, since then I'm not paying attention to the terrible lyrics, but rather the beat.

Of course you can dance to hip-hop...
But it's kinda crappy compared to superior dance music.
That said, you definitely can dance to hip-hop, and since it's slow as heck, you can get creative with some of the more intricate moves.
I prefer a beat that makes you break out into a sweat though. I can't stand dance music under 140 BPM, and I peak at 170-190 BPM
Not all hip-hop is slow though?
sorry.
what i meant was that you can't dance to hip-hop for 5 hours straight. I'm fine with a bit of it, in fact, i'm good with a bit of it. but seeing as how all the DJs HAD was hip-hop, rap, and gratuitious intercourse ing amounts of country, that mad me off quite a bit.
I mean, their electronic songs consisted of about 10, total. two of those were daft punk, and the one of the two was only added because of my request at the previous dance :|
Our dances consist of hip-hop, R&B, pop, little rock (like, 1 song), and Daft Punk.
Sometimes, I myself normally don't like dances because it's way too noisy, crowded, and the music sucks.

I think Zovi has a much different definition of slow than we do.
Yeah, zovi's definition of slow is under 2 beats per SECOND. Haha, please, show me hip hop that fast.
Gahhhh, I wish they would play metal or ska at dances. That would have been epic! Get some Opeth going and start headbanging YEAHHH
Dance, not mosh pit.
I went to the prom not too long ago and danced with my date for about 5 hours, so yeah, I went to a dance.

You mean the kind of dances where nobody dances, or can and they play rap all the time and is horrible? Yeah, i never go to those.
Don't lie, School Circlepit would be a great occasion. Even School Wall of Death or School Skankpit.
Our school is half way to skankpit anyways.
