Post by: Jono2 on October 09, 2008, 10:44:54 PM
anyone else have teachers/profs with ungodly accents?

my Calculus teacher (of all subjects, WHY GOD CALCULUS? :\) is East Indian and has the worst intercourse ing accent ever.

now, i'm a grammar freak, so it bothers me every time he says it.

we always deal with dv/dx or du/dx or du/dv, right?  its cal.

not only does he draw his Vs exactly the same as Us,

He pronounces his V's

"Wee".

it's SO FUCKING ANNOYING.

D  WEE D EX

D U D WEE

My CS191 professor is from China, so he's got a little bit of an Engrish accent going on. I can understand him for the most part, though.

In 7th grade many kids from other countries had to go to a special english learning class. Since I was from Canada I had to take a test to see If I understand english....Well the teacher who gave me the test barely spoke any english. I mean imagine this, You kid who gon take test in ma class you know? I passed the test with flying colors but everyone else failed so they where forced to stay in that class. 8th grade came around and they failed all there english classes. I blame that stupid ass teacher who gon not teach them prapoere anglish.

My 3rd grade teacher was from Brazil. She wasn't THAT bad with her accent, but still.

My Japanese professor occasionally falls into Engrish, but she's typically understandable for the most part, and it's difficult for native-born Japanese to annunciate Ls because R/L are interchangeable in Japanese. My calculus professor last year, uh...yeah. I'm not going to even get started about him.

My Chemistry teacher last year had a heavy Bulgarian.
You could understand her for the most part, but her accent was hilarious at times.

I had a similar experience: my math teacher was Middle Eastern, and she used to do something weird with her Vs.  She said stuff like "wertex" instead of "vertex."  One time, the kids in my class drew her with a bomb hidden on her head thingy. lol

None of my teachers have any accents.
If they were from a different country, it would probably be Canada, since I live pretty close to Canada.

Meh, never really had any problems. I had a Puerto Rican English teacher in 7th grade with a slight accent, but it wasn't that bad.

The new bio teacher who is the new head of the Science Honors Society at my school has a Brooklyn accent.  That's about it.

Uh... everyone here has a southern accent, including myself.
Well, maybe not the Indians...
As for teachers.. we have one that says "warter" instead of water... but then I do that sometimes to...
