Title: Firefox, why have you betrayed me?
Post by: HTA! on October 16, 2008, 05:49:43 PM
Whenever I go onto Firefox, it will not let me log into some sites, notably email.
I'll fill in user name and password, and when I hit enter it takes me back to the homepage of the website.

Then, when I shut off Firefox, it always asks me to clear private data, which is becmoing increasingly annoying.
Any help, please.  :'(

You probably did something that doesn't let it run scripts?
I dunno...

Instead of hitting enter, press accept, or OK or login or whatever the button says. Probably won't work, but worth a try.

one time I was messing around with some settings on opera and I accidentally made the thing not accept scripts from youtube, so i couldn't post comments...
but then it fixed itself, I think.... where do I to to fix that? >_>

Tools>Options>Privacy>Check "Enable cookies from sites" on, and select "Keep until:  They Expire."

That's all I can recommend.

Also, under privacy, turn off "clear data on close" or something like that.

DON'T GIVE UP NOW

I use "Clear Data on Close".  It has nothing to do with the problem, it just gets rid of your cookies/cache files whenever you close Mozilla Firefox (I always have it ask though just in case there is something I want to keep.)  It helps keep your computer fast =]

That's what I would do.
