The end of the first marking period was last week for me, so we got our Report Cards on Friday. I think this is what I had:
ELA: B+
Health: A-
Geometry: A
U.S History: A
Biology: A
Gym: A+
GPA: 3.833
That's from the top of my head, though I'm pretty sure that's what they were. ELA could have been an A, but I didn't do an assignment, so that dropped it down. Other than that, I'm happy. :)
So, what are your grades so far?
Global-85-90
Health-80-90(I think 82 not sure)
Science-90-95
PE-100
Math-95-100
English-95-100
I have High Honor roll at the moment...
I don't know. I'd have to ask for my grades.

Here in Skavinsklischwanzervach, we get grades based on how we tip our hats, how thick of a gravy we can make for our biscuits, and how prepared we are for climbing a ladder with our knees bent straight up.
So far I've not done well with my gravy. It has clumps in it occasionally and I don't know a proper method of preventing those.
My average is usually around a "Vier" out of "Funf".

Eh. Some professions(like medical professions) likely use more math than physics. It all depends.
I don't know for sure, but here is the rundown:
Math: horrible
Everything else pretty decent
I honestly don't know, since my professors don't put them up.

In my academic classes:
Biology: B
English: A
Western Civilization: A
Spanish 3: A-
Algebra 2: A
Only things I know for certain are bio and western civ. Rest are guesses based on tests and other assessments. We still have two more weeks in the quarter though. Hopefully I can get my science grade up to a B+/A- if I do well on the lab reports and quiz that we still have.
Physics: A+
Spanish for Spanish Speakers II: A+
Math Analysis: A-
English II: A+
Jewish History: A+
AP World History: A+
PC Applications I: A+
Those were my final grades for the quarter.
Best grades I've had in a while.
I got my progress report about a week or two ago...
AP English 11- B+ (Got lazy. >.<)
Physics- A+ (Can't believe how easy they make it)
Gym- A+ (Easiest poop ever. Even with the "fitness days")
AP US History- B (I don't know HOW it's even that high. That class is hard as a mutha!)
Culinary Arts 2- A+ (Cooking's my specialty. ^^)
Advanced Algebra- C (I hate math with a passion)
With Honors/AP Classes, B's count as A's, so it's really 5 A's and a C. XP

Such heresy! Physics is mathematics applied to the real world. Your teachers should work harder on making that connection for you kids. Some word problems wouldn't hurt either.
And teachers these days should also work on making sure kids can read context these days, it seems they show them use of a thesaurus, but what good is that without context? Or perhaps the word "unlike" doesn't show that I realize physics is math applied in such a manner. Nope, definitely your teachers haven't taught you context.

I don't know man. This was pretty clear to me: "doesn't apply itself to the real world." You know, Mack, just because you don't know the meaning of a word, doesn't mean that nobody else can know it.

you're heavily oversimplifying it. Physics is just an extension of the calculus you learn in math. If you don't take the "impractical" math then you can't do physics.

I know the meaning to several words, however, a majority of your recent posts are merely attempts to look better than the rest of the forum.
And RA, I actually can. I quite enjoy Physics, however, I quite dislike the Calculus. And guess what, you don't need to have both where I come from. So maybe where you come from, you need to have both the practical and "impractical", but I don't.
no, you need calculus to do physics. You can memorize formulas other people have derived using calculus, but then scope of problems you can do is VERY small. I mean, I guess you could do simple force problems? Good job?
I'm not going to argue this. I've done my time with physics, without doing calculus, and the scope of problems was much more than "simple force problems". But who am I to know the curriculum that I've completed?
yes, I am fully aware "Physics without calculus" courses are offered. These courses give you calculus derived formulas for you to memorize so you can solve problems. For instance, there are spring force problems that would go way over your head if you did not know calculus (you can solve the simple ones using your nice F=-kx), among others.

On topic, calculus is physics. Actually, calculus is more like physics, than high school physics actually is. Calculus isn't the "impractical" part of physics. They are both the same thing. Have you ever taken a calculus class?
I've taken both with honors.

No, our student teacher fails at teaching sometimes. She reads from the notes that our teacher gives her (or maybe she writes them out, not sure) and goes from there. I walk out every day not learning anything. Quite sad, actually.

8th grade
PAP Geometry: Somewhere in the B range, I'm already a year ahead of everyone else, I don't think I need an A (though I am trying x_x).
PAP LA: A- to A
Computer Applications: A to A+
Communication Applications (speech): A-
PAP US History: 96
Science: A to A+
Athletics Boys Basketball: 100
AP Physics: ~95
AP English: ~90?
AP Calc: ~95
Graphic Design Agency: ~98

80s all around. Too lazy to do my homework D:
Calculus: B -
World Civilizations: B
Computer Studies: C+
Spanish: D
The C is from me screwing up a few times too many but I've got it under control.
And the D is from totally bombing the first 2 exams. But I've got it now.
Also Computer Studies. It's 60 minutes of 'how to do things with Microsoft Office that you'll never really need'. But it's requirement before you can take any of the programming classes so I endure.
I've never felt so old for being in college. I feel like everyone else here is younger than me.
'I remember when Mario Bros. 3 came out for the NES! In those days we had to walk to school for 15 miles, in the snow, uphill, with no shoes, both ways!'
Report cards are sent out at the end of next week, so then I'll have definite grades.
Got my grades today.
Global studies: 82(I hate history)
Health: 86(I sleep in this class)
Keyboard Communications: 99(Boring class)
Earth Science: 91(I tend to either fool around or sleep in this class)
P.E. : 100(I see no problems here)
(Integrated)Geometry: 96 (Yeah, I don't pay too much attention in this class, kid behind me distracts me a lot)
English: 93 (I hate this class the most)

98.7 average.
4.0 GPA.
I have a high grade (A) in every class except for AP Psychology. I have a B- in that. Very difficult class, so...yea. ::)
I still have A's in everything besides Trig, which is probably a D, which I don't really care about, which I never cared about in the first place.

My new Tourism class has me at a 96, very nice.
at my progress report I had like a 85 GPA and after I got my report card I have like a 92.3. Since I already know everything in my classes I slack in the first part of the quarter and then I can bring my grades up any time I want without a sweat. The only class I can't slack in is Spanish.

And I only got a "pass" for gym! I definitely deserve a "pass with honors."
So yeah, my first quarter average last year was a 94.33 and this year it's a 91.9.
So here's what my grades turned out to be for the first quarter:
Western Civilizations: A

English 9: B+ (I don't know how this happened, but I'm going to talk to my teacher about it tomorrow)
Biology 2: B

GPA: 3.52
I would've made high honor roll with A's in English and Video, which I really though I had. Also, my science teacher is gone for the second quarter because she has to get surgery, so hopefully with her gone I can get an A.
