Title: Remake?
Post by: Mystic on October 26, 2008, 03:55:04 PM
Would you like to see a 3D remake of SMB? I think it'd be intercourse ing awesome.

No, personally. I'd rather see new titles in the Mario Universe be created, not a remake of a title I know is good. The Mario Team has better things to do, imo.

Basically, I agree with what Mack said.

While a remake might be nice, I don't really see the need for it. Besides, I'd much rather play something new, than just a rehashed version of the old.

New game. We've already gotten Mario 3 and Mario World re-released four different times already (not to mention the five times at least of Mario Bros.)

Uh, Mario World had no remakes, Mario 1 had one remake on All Stars, and Mario 3 had two remakes on All Stars and GBA.
Then Mario World and Mario 1 have GBA ports, all three are available on Virtual Console, World was pretty much copy+pasted into the All Stars+World bundle thing.
Not sure about e-Reader or Animal Crossing (GCN).
Adding remakes and ports, they each have no more than three re-releases that I know of.

I wouldn't mind a true remake, as long as it's more than just graphics that are improved.

re-make, port, at this point it's the same thing to Nintendo.
Mario 3: All-Stars, GBA, VC
World: All-Stars, GBA, VC
Mario Bros. (arcade): NES, ALL FOUR ADVANCES, and VC
I'm just sick of this sort of thing really.

I'd rather just get a new game.

I don't see why everyone loves remakes so much.
I'd rather just get a brand new game.

But... NSMB... Isn't that the 3D remake? (except with a bunch of other things added to it as well)
I've never actually played it, so I could be wrong.

I think that's the purpose of SM64 and its sequels.  They're not remakes, but they're good games.  I'd rather see a true SM64 sequel.  Super Mario Sunshine was great, but it didn't feel like SM64.  Super Mario Galaxy was closer, but it was too easy and linear.  If they made a direct sequel to SM64 that gave you more of a chance to roam around and actually put effort into locating all 120 stars, that would be awesome.

I'd prefer a New Super Mario World (NSMB2).

No.

But if they WERE to remake something... perhaps Super Mario Land?

Yes. That, or Mario Bros. And not just another one of those GBA versions. An actual plot, different worlds, more enemies, and...ONLINE BATTLE MODE.

If they remade all of SMB1 in the same fashion as Sega remade Green Hill Zone in SA2B (google if you haven't seen), I would LOVE it. Especially if it were Mario 64-esque physics. It would honestly be like 90% new game, cuz of the added depth and such.

Not really. The DS version was enough.

Besides, they might be working on a game for the platformer trilogy.
