Title: Is Guitar Hero easier or harder for an actual guitarist?
Post by: tibar21 on October 27, 2008, 12:31:36 PM
Whenever I play guitar hero 3 or rock band with my friends they're always playing medium while I have trouble getting a fivestar from a song when I play guitar. My friends say I suck and even though I don't own any of the games yet I should still own at it since I play real guitar. But I honestly think it makes it a lot harder, and even though the game is really fun it's a cheap excuse for a guitar because it only has 5 strings and the whammy bar isn't realistic at all. I like how world tour is going to have palm mutuing in it which will make it more fun. But what do you think about. I'm just curious.

I play a little guitar and the two aren't really comparable at all, except for maybe the dexterity needed. I can play a lot things on Guitar Hero that I can't play on real guitar.

I'm pretty sure it would be as hard for actual guitarists to play it for the first time as it would be for a regular person picking up guitar hero for the first time.... guitar hero is just a video game. it's not like actual guitar at all :\

I can't speak for guitar exactly, but when I do bass on rock band, I can't clear some expert songs that I could effortlessly bass in real life.

Yeah. I really don't think one has any effect on the other.
