In this game you can actually change the voices to the japanese ones.
So NO MORE GRIFFITH. (If you play it in japanese, that is...)
So ya, it looks pretty cool. :P

New cutscene and first world Hub.
Apparentley, There are many diffrent levels in each hub and there are about 8 hubs I think.
And you can upgrade abilities like speed and stuff if you collect enough exp. orbs.
Also, playthrough of first level. :
Now you got me all excited.
I have to admit, the opening cutscene does look rather good (even though SEGA still looks like they're trying to rip-off Star Wars).
My only complaint: Let me guess...we won't be getting to do all those cool stunts with Sonic in actual gameplay will we? X_X;;
I'll wait for the reviews before I play it...

We can do some stunts, but nothing like what he does in the intro.

They already ripped from them before, why not again? :P
Also, you shouldn't really follow the reviews.
It's thier own opinion, yours could be completely diffrent from thiers....
First cutscene looks like movie opening. Second vid has ice cream. My conclusion: this game is awesome! Although I'm already hating Sonic's new sidekick; I hope Tails, Knuckles, etc. eventually join in, too.

They generally have the right idea about what to say, at least from IGN's perspective. If reviews are generally bad, then it's going to be bad. If reviews tend to be good, then it's usually good...

Chip is kind of like Omochao, I guess.
That ice cream looked delicious, no wonder Chip was rushing towards it.

It surprises me that Werehog Sonic can talk though, I thought he was just a mindless beast.
Also, the Dreamcast makes a cameo appearance.

That's cool.
He probably plays as Sonic and makes him run off cliffs in SA2 XD
Well, according to places Ive read that played the game (IGN, Gamespot and the bias that they are, and some 1up stuff), the normal Sonic levels play pretty good, while hte warehog levels are horrendously boring and stupid. Basically what I expect...but at least we're getting half a good game from them...

They don't look that bad, but why can't I just run fast?
If I wanted a brawler, I'd play God of War, not a Sonic game.
And to think this is only because it's WereSonic; if they had made it so that you use Knuckles to do the fighting, people would be all "FINALLY, a good use of Knuckles' fighting talent" and "Yes! Knuckles without any treasure hunting!"
BTW whoever said the other characters were confirmed, could you provide a link?

No need to point out the obvious Ryan, we all know that the other Ryan will hate the game, he is a false Sonic fanboy. I think the Werehog parts will be fun.
"Sonic is meant for speed not fighting"
That's why they made him into a werehog, it's not 100% Sonic. I bet if you grew twice your size and got a load of hair, you would be slow too. They can't just keep making Sonic run throughout every the level, that would make Sonic boring, and they'd basically be making a old game with new levels.

Really, unlike Nintendo, Sega tends to try too MANY new things.
I hope they get it right this time, they are making programming glitches and design choices I haven't seen since the PS1.

1. When did I mention Sonic 06? Even though I liked it, I know almost everyone hated it. I don't blame you for that much.
2. Looks can be decieving(SP?). And as you stated earlier, if it were Knuckles in Werehog's place, you'd be more OK with it. But as SEGA's stupidity shows, they
have to add SOME kind of new playable character to every game (Except Secret Rings which was a horrible game), which means that they couldn't allow Knuckles to take Werehog's place.

You are wrong.
And besides, it's only button mashing if YOU are the one who's doing the mashing....
Also, there are more day levels than Night levels...

and yes we know you hate 06. Stop bringing it up.
Apparently, the Wii version comes out the 18th, but the 360 version doesn't come out until the 24th and the PS3 version won't be released until December 12th.
I guess I'll try the Wii version...

Hooray for ad hominem attacks! (meaning: "of the person") The button mashing is just what it appears to me (and many hands-on plays that are on the internet). But then again, everyone seems to like Kingdom Hearts so maybe that IS just me. And yes, you do suck up a bit when it comes to new ideas. Basically your reaction to the warehog was along the lines of "wow that looks cool!" *same goes for the Black Knight.* Nothing ever seems to be wrong, everything is always a good idea.
I do like the Sonic the comic reference though. Very keen of you (you mispelled Scourge tho) XD
**Oh, you meant SCROOGE. I thought you were making a Sonic the Comic reference, no I'm not a scrooge, I'm just being honest with my opinion on it. From the video's we've seen, it seems like pure simple button mashing**
JrDude: Um...I'm pretty sure it's well established Sonic 06 was by far the worst one. Secret Rings is more about personal taste, while 06 (generally) is considered all around bad. And I do like Sonic games after SA2. I love the handheld games (Rush is the best game since Sonic went 3D), and Heroes was all-around good (if a bit repetitive, but that's a common flaw in all games nowadays). Shadow was meh, Secret Rings was okay-good but lots of lost potential, but Sonic 06 was horrible. I'd rather play Sonic R than that game...at least I can play it X_X;;
And I do have a life, it's called college (and it's not my fault chicks hate me =( )

JrDude: Um...I'm pretty sure it's well established Sonic 06 was by far the worst one. Secret Rings is more about personal taste, while 06 (generally) is considered all around bad. And I do like Sonic games after SA2. I love the handheld games (Rush is the best game since Sonic went 3D), and Heroes was all-around good (if a bit repetitive, but that's a common flaw in all games nowadays). Shadow was meh, Secret Rings was okay-good but lots of lost potential, but Sonic 06 was horrible. I'd rather play Sonic R than that game...at least I can play it X_X;;
And I do have a life, it's called college (and it's not my fault chicks hate me =( )
you should see the one vid, it's all platforming for about 10 minutes, (Even though the guy sucks at it :P)
But yeah, I actually give these games a CHANCE, unlike you and "this game is going to suck".
It's pretty much the equilivent to my optimism...
So I guess we are BOTH wrong.....
I guess we are going to have to play the game first then.
But for now, it's not good or bad.
Just N/A... :robothappy:

No I am not in college.
But yes, it is different, you live near your classes with a roomate, you go to class, you don't have to do anything in class 'cause the teacher doesn't care, you get kicked out of a class if you miss it a certain number of times, ect.
But that still doesn't mean you have a life.
Take it to a teen help forum or something, you three.
Personally, the only bad thing I can see about Sonic Unleashed so far is that the 360 version doesn't come out until the end of the month. Hey, at least the Wii version comes out this week.
Sonic the Werehog's gameplay reminds me of Ristar. ^_^

it doesn't make you cool, but it does make you cool
er, but only if the chick is either hot, or not hideous to most people.
Okay, more sonic unleash, less arguing/having a life/virginity.
And yes Tuppy, it also reminds me of ristar. :P
I don't know who the hell is Ristar.
But I think this is going to be the first ame of Sonic I got in a loooooooooooooooooooooong time. (Last one was Sonic Riders).

Ristar was a Genesis game made near the tail end of the Genesis's lifespan that Sega hoped to turn into a new franchise, but the failure of the Saturn caused them not to go with making a new game.
Ristar was in fact, a star with stretchy arms that could reach out and grab things. It's quite fun.
nintendo power got unleashed early and reviewed it.
It got an 8/10.
Pretty good news.
I hope the 360 ver. Gets a good score....

It kind of looks like a mix of God of War and Ristar, but I'm not sure one section of this game can't live up to those awesome games.
7.2 from IGN for Wii version (which is what I'm likely to pick up)
Basically:
Day levels with normal Sonic: Absolutely fantastic why didn' they just make the game this
Night Levels: Thanks a lot for wasting half a game with this boring poop.
Odds are I'm probably going to agree with this but at least everyone is saying the day levels are fun.
So it's basically half of a game?
The game looks worth it for the day levels.
Sonic game: Ur almost doin it rite.
What's so bad about the Werehog? I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that doesn't hate everything that Sonic Team does.
I liked the mech levels in SA2:B, I liked Tails and Gamma in SA/DX, I really liked the Sonic/Shadow/Metalsonic gameplay in both games, the treasure hunting in both were annoying while playing initially but are later a bit fun when going back to play them again. I liked the Sonic Advance games, though not 3 as much as the other 2. I like the Rush games for the most part but not as much as the Advance ones. And the Werehog looks like it's actually fun in my opinion, though I want more characters like Tails playable in normal non-minigame play.

I agree with most of that. I liked the Treasure hunting levels until the later ones where the stage is giant and the hints are reversed. I also liked how there was an upgrade in every level (except the driving level & Green Hill zone).
I also look forward to playing as Werehog, as some don't, I liked Kingdom Hearts, and I also like "button mashing".
The weird thing is, I think I won't like the day levels because of the constant running, and I didn't like that in S&tSR, though that went a little overboard, so I still think I might like the day levels too. (That sounded like it didn't make sense but whatever)
GO WEREHOG!

GO WEREHOG!
The reason me (and a lot of other people I know not on this forum apparently) think the warehog is horrible is because it's completely unnecessary. The entire game could've been the running stages and everyone would've been happy. Instead they have to break half the game into something no one asked for. Also, don't give me the "but it's trying something different!" excuse. SEGA has been "trying new things" since SA2 ended and look where it's gotten them. Just make one game PURELY about running fast and THEN they can try new things. As much as I gripe about Nintendo NEVER/RARELY trying anything new with their games, SEGA seems to go out of their way to do different stuff. Also, the ONE TIME it would actually be plausible/fun to use Knuckles' fighting ability we got some half-assed warehog thing X_X
(just my two cents) XP
You know, if they blended new ideas well, it wouldn't be a problem, but trying to mix a fast paced platformer and a slow brawler is like trying to mix vinegar and oil.
That said, I don't want "Sonic runs across the American Midwest", but I don't want "Sonic: The Brawlers". I want a mix of them both, but it should be always be somewhat fast.

SEGA seems to not like making games similar to the last anymore. SEGA does something new in every Sonic game now. It usually carries a new character with the new thing they added. And the Werehog isn't completely unnecessary, just regular unnecessary. Also, to the running fast game you were mentioning, there is one, and it sucked to many people, S&tSR. I bet if SEGA re-made SA2:B exactly the same as the original (except
maybe better graphics), they'd probably make more money than they are now.
Nayr, you over-exagerrate.
I rented the wii ver.
The werehog levels are pretty decent.
But not as good as day time levels.

Well I thought they were that bad.
Once I got to the final level I was about ready to kill myself with the werehog levels. X_X;;
The speed/running levels are so much fun though... they're just too short ;_; At least they have missions to keep the challenge up.
