Title: Election Day 2008 is tomorrow.
Post by: Tupin on November 03, 2008, 02:56:51 PM
Yes, all the campaign ads and annoying phone calls will end tomorrow. They are expecting such a high voter turnout that my school district is canceling school so they can handle the voters as efficiently as possible. Barack Obama has a slight lead in the polls, with John McCain leading slightly behind.

Are you voting tomorrow or have you already cast an absentee ballot? Or are you younger than 18 and did one of those events in school where students vote for the president?

I'm not voting either, no matter who wins they won't do anything to help the lower/middle class

I would vote, but for some reason my absentee ballot "never came in"
I BET! It's cuz I live in Georgia and since they're a red state they don't want us "yuggins" voting X_X;;
I'd vote Obama, but neither are that great. At least Obama has a chance of being good, while McCain will just intercourse  over the country more.

Strangely enough though, Obama actually has a slight lead in Virginia, a state that has voted Republican in every election since 1964.

If I was able to vote I wouldn't.

Vote for McCain(or whatever his name is): If he dies, congrats, just voted for a terrible VP
Vote for Obama: He gets shot, and now you feel bad because you contributed to him getting shot, if wasn't president he might have not been killed.

And if not those, they both suck anyways.

I can't vote, as I'm not yet 18, but our school is holding a mock election.

If I could vote, I would vote for John McCain.

*Waits for people to criticize him*

Our school had a mock election too.

I would have voted for John McCain if I was 18 if he had chosen a better VP.

But yeah, we get assignments on all sorts of votes. Our last paper was on the Electoral College votes, for instance, and a prediction of who will be President (that was hard, :D) so, yeah.

Hey, at least most voting machines are electronic.

Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Virginia will decide the election, basically.

Actually the electronic ones are just as bad (although that simpsons skit was funny as hell about it XD )
Again, this is why the elctoral college fails. Why should three or four states basically determine an election? Not saying the other votes don't matter but it puts greater importance on those votes. Also, it essentially wastes votes for the party not winning the state...

Kind of, but not as much as those three states.

Missouri is probably the most important of those three.

Can't vote; not old enough.
There was a mock election in school, done online.
Obama won in all 4 grades in my school, my school overall, the state, and the national mock election.
All of McCain's percentages were around 20something, and all of Obama's percentages were around 70something.

Obama is currently leading 103-34 according to NBC, winning Pennsylvania and currently leading in Florida as far as current counting goes.
In terms of the Senate the Democrats have gained 2 seats compared to last elections returns of the states where the polls have been counted.

Not really....Georgia is too red overall. However, our Senate race is rather close, with Jim Martin(D) within 4 percentage points of Saxby Chambless(R) since the economic downturn. That would be a HUGE upheaval if Georgia has a Dem Senate holder

Texas is surprisingly close, while Mississipi is close as well
Obama has a seemingly good lead in Ohio (not surprising), and has a slim lead in Florida. McCain has an ever so small lead in Indana, while Obama CNN says is gaining ground.

Beat me to it D:

I can't believe he won. Well, I can, but still... Oh well, like it matters. Dosn't affect me much. My mom is freaking out. Let me show you a conversation with her and my step-dad:

Her: "I'm in shock, I can't believe he got elected! Evil man!"
Step-dad: "Uh-huh"
Her: "He is going to have the Muslims overrun America and kill all Christians!"
Dad: "Oh"
Her: "Well at least mabe he will kill all the Mexicans."
Dad: "..."

Yeah...
Wow.

I knew he was going to win, Palin was McCain's downfall. Now we wait to see how Missouri voted to see if the Missouri Bellwether stands. Probably not, last I checked, McCain was winning in Missouri.

Barack Obama is the 43rd President of the United States of America.

God help us.

Even more interesting is that Georgia's Senate race between Martin and Chambless ended in a runoff, after my state voted almost overwhelmingly (compared to other states) for McCain. Well, here's to Dec. 2nd then XD

She is so freaking impossible too. No matter how many times I say he is Christian, she always just says he is Muslim. When I ask how she would know that, she just says its "common knowlege". And when I ask how that is common knowlege, she just tries to start another conversation >_>

She has issues with Mexicans... They are so intercourse ing rude around here, I can't blame her. Not to mention they are taking over California D:  (She likes the REAL Mexicans, like the actual ones from Mexico. She just can't stand their kids, who were born here and act like they own the place)

Oh um... okay.

I'm glad I'm Cuban.
We appreciate being American compared to that awful place that the Castro brothers rule.
