" * Club Nintendo in North America is still on schedule to launch before the end of 2008.
* It will be more like the Japanese program than the European, in that there will be more physical products than digital.
* As is the case in Europe, you gain points (known as gold coins in North America) by purchasing a product and entering a code on the Club Nintendo site, and can reap further points by completing surveys on the product you bought. In Europe, it's worth mentioning that these are hardly time-consuming: just five or six questions with tickboxes.
* Unlike in Europe, you can gain points for indicating an interest in purchasing before buying. Noice!
* Some items from the Japanese service will make it to North America "
This comes from nintendowiifanboy.com, but I must say, this is somewhat interesting. What kind of products are you personally after? A special CD? A Legend of Zelda with Tingle as the star? Wallpapers? What?
I'm curious, and even more excited, now.
so we will get points for games all ready registered?

dang, I have so much stuff registered
Same, but this is why I left some of my games unregistered. =)
But I'm looking forward to a certain Classic Controller.
I guess that's ok.
It better not be stupid products you're getting, though. Like wallpapers. That would be a waste.

WHAT? They better include already registered Wiis and DSes for points if they're giving points when the Club comes out.
Intriguing.
I'll give this a shot...finally they're doing something right :P

The site's apparently up and ready to transfer over your account; though I haven't gotten any points for old DS games yet.

it won't even let me log in, I put my username and password in and it takes me back to the homepage still not logged in
edit: I'm already earning coins! the surveys are only 6 questions and they are all the same!
EDIT.2: I just got Game & Watch Collection!
edit.3: not I can't even log in, at least I got the Game & Watch Collection
It's been crazy glitchy, logging on and off, giving error messages after I complete surveys.
I'm glad it's come, though. Hopefully it'll be fixed by tomorrow.
Anyone else having problems like me? Stupid high traffic. |:

me, but like I said I earned enough for Game & Watch Collection and ordered it, and I still have many surveys left
Any ideas on how I could get my username back? They won't send it to my e-mail address.
I couldn't remember it for the life of me.
I can't for the life of me complete a survey.
This sucks.

I'm disappointed WiiWare/VC isn't counted that I can see.
I got 520 coins left over, I want those Hanafuda Cards
I have 510 coins, after registering and completing surveys...
Dammit. How long will the Game & Watch collection be available?

It doesn't even ship til the 22nd, so you've got plenty of time before it leaves shelves.
Anyway, after nearly countless failed attempts to log in, using every one of my past usernames I could think of, I decided to just use my e-mail address. It worked. I now have 580 points. 8)
*Edit:
Hey, I just realized something: buying used means probably no points. Does anyone here think it's worth the $2-5 just to get 30-50 coins?
Yeah I just got in and have 130 coins.
Too bad it kicked me off and refuses to let me log back in. It just...gives me a "Please Log In" error message.
Virtual Console Coin Mystery = SOLVED!
First, you must link your Club Nintendo profile with your Wii Shop Channel profile. To do this:
1. Access the Wii Shop Channel through the Wii console.
2. Select "Settings" from the list of options.
3. Select "Link Your Club Nintendo Membership."
4. Enter your Club Nintendo account's Username and Password.
5. Click "Link" to complete the process.
Mine was already linked when I checked, but I don't think it normally does that, so go ahead and do those steps.
Once you're done with that, all VC games you buy will be automatically registered. In order to register games you already bought, go to this link: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform.jsp (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform.jsp). Once you're there, type your e-mail in the appropriate boxes, select "Wii" from the first drop-down box, select "Channel Support/Assistance" from the second drop-down box, select "Wii Shop" from the third drop-down box, and finally, follow its instructions on how to register old games.

You sir, are a coin saviour.
Okay, I'm speaking too soon. I'll try this tomorrow.
I have about 600 coins right now for doing those stupid surveys. If I can register my VC games on there, I will have 1000's of coins :P I buy a VC game like once a week or more :D
Coins Value:
Wii game=50
DS game=30
VC game=10
I doubt you'll be getting thousands. ;)
I linked my account to my nintendo account, it turns out i had some games registered. I take the survey and click finish, but it just says thank you for completing the survey, and it doesn't give me coins. Is it because i'm doing it from the wii?

You need 20 wii games to get a thousand, if you have some ds games you don't need that many. A thousand coins is very possible.
