I've been considering Wii Speak, but I have a few questions.
1. It can be used out of game, correct?
2. What games, outside of AC:CF and the Conduit, currently/will use it?
3. Is it good quality sound, and the like?
I'm curious to know if it is worth my money.
I've been thinking about getting it too.
1. yes, there is a Wii Speak Channel, what you do is you exchange friend codes for the Wii Speak, with someoneelse who has it, and then. i guess you both go into the channel to talk to each other.
(also. i think it's up to 4 people can chat at a time.)
2. thats the only two games that i know of that will use it, so far.
according to GoNintendo, Wii Speak will be/ can be used with the rumored Internet channel 2.0
(i say rumored because i haven't found anything saying Nintendo has confirmed it)
3. Idk, i haven't bought it yet, i'm thinking about getting it to just play around with it, and such.
also, you can you Wii Speak to record a message and send it with a picture to a Wii Friend.
or just a recorded message from what i know too.
it's $30, so i hope its good :-\

1. It can be used out of game, correct? - Yes, it can be used outside of game. The WiiSpeak channel will be released in December according to the box of WiiSpeak.
2. What games, outside of AC:CF and the Conduit, currently/will use it? - None announced so far.
3. Is it good quality sound, and the like? - From what I've used it so far, the other person came in clear.
I'm curious to know if it is worth my money.
Other then the bolded areas in the qoute, the only thing I can add is the fact that I wouldn't get it unless you have ACCF/Plan on getting The Conduit. I just see Nintendo tossing this one away like all the other useless periphrials... or however you spell it.

The Conduit is definitely on my list, so, that works. Plus, I have friends with Wii's far away (such as, everyone on NSF) that I could chat with :O
I think it's a decent value, but I'd rather have a headset instead of a stupid dongle sitting on top of my TV.

you can't get the Wii Speak Channel without buying the Wii Speak microphone.
you get a "Wii Ticket" (it comes with the microphone) that gives you a 16-diget code that you use to download the channel
by going into
Wii Shop Channel>Settings and Features>Wii Download Ticket

It could of been, but it wasn't.

Also if you can find a friend who wants animal crossing but cant get a ride you can buy it and keep the wii speak that comes with it and sell the friend the game for $50.You save 20 bucks and your friend gets a game he wanted without having to pay for shipping. ;)
Someone tell me if I'm wrong, but I think the WiiSpeak actually does have headset capabilities... There's an option for it in AC O_O
I was hoping that maybe you could connect to people on WiiSpeak via Wi-Fi through the Home Menu (which means you could talk to someone anywhere on the Wii). That way, you can talk to people while Brawling online or something :P :P
