As an attempt to bring just a pinch of activity to this board, we'll just do a simple thread. What are your three favorite Zelda games out of all the games you've played in the series?
My favorites:
- #3: Link's Awakening
- #2: The Wind Waker
- #1: Majora's Mask
List the reasons why they're your favorites too. I'm just too lazy to list mine.
And...go!
Wow, um:
3. Oracle of Ages
2. Ocarina of Time
1. A Link to the Past
3. Wind Waker: love the art style, huge open world, and how there's almost no generic characters--everyone has a name and a story
2. Ocarina of Time: do I really need to say why this one's awesome?
1. Majora's Mask: this is the best game for several reasons. one reason is because it's the darkest of all zeldas thanks to its constant "the world is going to end and there's nothing you can do about it right now" mood. i love how they did this; twilight princess was dark thanks to its realistic look, dark atmosphere (which I actually hated, as it seemed pretty bland), and adult characters, yet majora's mask managed to make an even darker game despite its more cartoonish look, better colors, and kid star simply because it used that little thing that TP lacked: a good story. I also like being able to play as a Deku, Goron, and Zora. And finally, what really got me about this game is the characters--everyone has a name, story, and probably a side-quest (as opposed to TP's huge towns of useless carbon copies), the Dekus are finally displayed as a fellow tribe rather than just enemies in the field, you really get into the supposedly useless character's stories (Kafei and Anju's sidequest almost made me cry at the end), and you know the whole time that every person you meet will die in three days unless you do something about it. Better than any movie I've seen.
1. A Link to the Past
2. Link's Awakening
3. Wind Waker
Honourable mention: Majora's Mask
3. Twilight Princess
2. Wind Waker
1. Ocarina of Time
3. A Link to the past
2. Ocarina of time
1. Majora's Mask
And because I can...
4. Twilight Princess
5. Zelda 1
1. Majoras Mask. Probably the most deep Zelda game, and really fun. It was just great.
2. Wind Waker. Who couldn't love this game? The style and gameplay is so freaking fun!
3. Link's Awakening. One of the first I ever played, love it :3
3.Wind Waker- An overall great game with wonderful graphics, a vast world to explore, and a pretty dandy combat system. I also thought that the setting was pretty unique. If only it was a bit longer... The only downside was the lack of something to keep you interested while sailing. It can get pretty boring sailing for long distances.
2.A Link to the Past- I actually just played this one recently, and it was amazing! It was probably one of the longest Zelda games I've played, and it had what Zelda games have been lacking lately- difficulty. There was even a bit of exploring to do if you wanted all of the weapons.
1.Ocarina of Time- I grew up with this one! It was- and is- one of the best games of all time! It was the first Zelda game in full 3D, and also the first to use a targetting system. With a vast kingdom to explore, and several dungeons to conquer as both a child and adult, Ocarina of Time easily takes the cake as my favorite Zelda. Majora's Mask would have been on this list too, but I wanted to make it so that each of the 3 were from different systems, and I personally liked Ocarina of Time's extensive gameplay more than MM's sidequests.
#3 Oracle of Seasons-My first Zelda game and it's still grown on me
#2 Link to the Past-I love this one for no good reason. I just do
#1 Zelda 1-Really fun and simple. Sure it had no story really but it's just good
3) WW
-Best music in the series, tied with TP
-Best Ganondorf/Ganon in the series, his motives are actually explained and the game goes through great pains to humanize him before the final battle.
-While on the matter of humanization, first Zelda game that really gives Link believable emotions of his own.
-Well-designed dungeons (there just simply aren't enough)
-Cel-shading was a ballsy move by Nintendo that paid off; in spite of all the rumors that it'd destroy the game, it became one of its most lauded features.
-Contains gentle nods to OoT's timeline (unlike TPs', which shove it in your mouth)
2) OoA/OoS
-I consider them two facets of the same game, though OoA is the better of the two "parts".
-Ganon hardly appears at all in the game.
-OoA has the most elegant 2D Zelda puzzles ever conceived.
-"Secrets" feature to unlock additional content was more than just a marketing ploy by Nintendo to get both games, it was actually useful.
-Fun and unique dungeon items (Magnetic Gloves, Seed Shooter, Magic Boomerang [you can't DIRECTLY control the boomerang's flight path in TP/WW], Animal Flutes.
-Bosses actually deal damage and can kill you.
1) Majora's Mask:
-First Zelda game where you really felt any kind of attachment to the NPCs. You could literally follow them around and watch their schedules for three days.
-Majora herself (read the manga, though it's not totally canon) is a sadistic, cold-hearted ninny who really wants to see the world burn as opposed to Ganondorf whose intentions were somewhat pure from the start, but became corrupted by power along the way.
-Only Zelda game in recent memory with actually challenging dungeons.
-Stone Tower Temple may be the best-designed dungeon in Zelda history.
-Great Bay Temple is the only water-themed dungeon in the Zelda series that's actually fun.
-Some of the best music to ever be recorded using MIDI outside of the PS1 Final Fantasies.
-BUNNY HOOD! YEAAAAAAAAAH!
I don't think I can do it. D: Here, I'll give it a try anyway:
1. Oracle Of Season/Ages
2. Link's Awakening. (No, maybe Ocarina Of Time.)
3. Wind Waker/ Twilight Princess
:3
1 windwaker
2. twilight princess
3. minish cap
almost tied with links awakening
3 -Wind Waker
2- A Link to the Past
1- Majora's Mask
Twilight Princess was the easiest of all of the Zelda games, thus, it disappointed me. Everything about that game was predictable.
If OOT isent in your top 3 then you epic fail :D
3-Meh...wind waker
2-Majora's mask
1 Ocarina of Time.
Wind waker is only up there because twilight sucks, original was meh and AOL was god awful.

It's all Personal Favorites and Opinions. And the Original Zelda was freaking awesome, mind you.

Forest temple, then fire mine, then water...
reminds you of the order of the first half of OoT DOESN"T IT *glares at Nintendo*
3. ALTTP
2. Majora's Mask
1. OoT

Because the game itself was Water
World. The Tower of Gods qualifies as a Water Level, seeing as the first part of the dungeon was filled with water.
1- The Wind Waker - It's purely an awesome game, my favorite of all time.
2- Ocarina of Time - It gives a nice solid footing for the series, and on the 'timeline'
3- A Link to the Past - epic. and hard too.

3. Twilight Princess
2. Wind Waker
1. Ocarina of Time
I beat Majora's Mask a few days ago, it was a shoe in to be in the top 3 until the Goron Hide & Seek and the fact that Fierce Diety Link can only be used during Boss Battles AND Majora being easy as hell.
1. Wind Waker
Fun to play, had that "you'll want to come back for more" attribute
Great graphics and art style
Interesting characters who you will remember
Sailing (Yes, I like it)
Cool items, and plenty of places to explore with them
Boss Fight and Ganon in general
2. Minish Cap
Loved the art style when you were small!
3. TP
Only three I've played. :(

Play Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. Then send me a basket of baked goods when you're done playing through each of them as a Thank-You Present.

Majora is only as "easy as hell" if you use the Fierce Deity Mask. Try not using the overpowered mask, and the fight becomes more interesting.
uhhh, I've only played two Zelda games before so I would have to list them...........
1. Zelda TP
2. Zelda OoT
3) Wind Waker - It was a refreshing new addition to the series. A brand new cartoon-like style is actually much more fun then I would have thought. The expressions are hilarious, and the new plot twists are enjoyable. The pirate/princess, the talking boat, and the way everything comes together is worth playing. I mean, even if you finish the game, there are still so many islands to venture through and unlock secrets in. Plus, once you've beaten the game once, you can play again with your island outfit, instead of that green sweaty tunic.
2) Majora's Mask - Oh, come on! This game is so much different then all the others, how could I leave it out? First of all, you get to be kid Link throughout the entire game (unless your wearing a mask, that is). And you get to ride Epona as a child! A big seller in this game is the fact that you can play as a Goron, Zora, or Deku Shrub. I mean, swimming around in the ocean, fighting for some Zora eggs, is a great new twist. Not only that, but this game has so many extra things to do that pertain to the masks. In short, if you get bored of the main temples, you can pursue some of the many masks in the game, or explore with Epona.
1) Ocarina of Time - Okay, okay. Yes, Ocarina of Time is first. Can't help it. It was the first real Zelda game I played. I mean, for that time, the graphics were amazing. And with the introduction of a horse to ride, with the ocarina to play different, important songs, it just tops everything. I mean, everything after OoT is really only OoT with various changes to make it a different game. But everything after Ocarina of Time had the basis of this game within the spirit of it. It truly is a great game. 3-D was a new thing, and OoT really knocked it out of the park. The beautiful cut scenes, enjoyable dungeons, clever puzzles, plenty of extra things to do after completing the game... Just a great, overall Zelda title. That's why it deserves numero uno.
Hmmm. Now there's a difficult question...let's see...
1. Ocarina of Time
2. A Link To The Past
3. Twilight Princess
I enjoy all of the Zelda games so it's very hard for me to narrow it down to a top 3.

all zelda games are easy as hell. majora is as well, even if you don't use deity.
Wind Waker was exactly lacking that "come back for more" sense in my eyes. gathering those stupid maps, then rupees, then shards mad me off to no end. Almost didn't finish it. If the rest of the game had been anything like the hyrule castle fight (after you unfreeze time), it would have been a kickass game. however, it wasn't.
3. A Link to the Past. Such an expansive game for it's time, and today as well. as games get shorter and shorter, games that use the console to it's full power get rarer and rarer, and this game holds that characteristic up to today.
2. Four Swords Adventures. Loved it, but that's also because I had someone to play it with. I loooooved it
1. Ocarina of Time. First Zelda game, etc, etc.

I was very happy after reading that part, knowing that I am not the only one who loves that game.
3.) Wind Waker
2.) Majora's Mask

Number 3 position may not be accurate. Or something.
