IGN leaked the date being March 2009 for the DSi to come out. Could it be true?
More importantly, what do you think of that? What marketing could there be for a March release? Is that too long to wait?
I'm curious as to why March....it seems like Ninty really likes the month. Perhaps a tactical advantage? Regardless, I hope more is told about this in the coming days.
If anything, I guarantee it will be released on a Sunday.

Yeah, why are all games released on a sunday, and dvds on a tuesday?

Call of Duty World at War came out on a Tuesday to the best of my knowledge.
Early B-day present ftw!
Well, I guess it's not that far away.
If it is, I'm glad. Cause I need a new DS. But, I doubt it. The DSi isn't supposed to be out until the DSL stops selling well. And the DSL, along with the Wii, just broke record sales so...

I hate that.I get a new game but I got to go to school the next day,it's fricking hell because im only thinking about the game.
But I still think that te dsi would have made more if it was released during the holiday season this year.
I don't think it matters, a new Nintendo handheld always sells well regardless of the time it's released.
I just think they're trying to release it at a time when no one is doing anything.
Doens't matter to me, I'm not buying one...waste of money if you ask me.
update
IGN changes DSi story from 'launching in March' to "waiting until at least March of 2009 before giving the system the US push it deserves". - IGN

Where'd the DS Lite 'White' go?
December 17th, 2008
This is a little pecular. If you start to search around major gaming retailers, you'll notice that a large majority of them are not selling the DS Lite 'White' model. GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart, and many more...all of them out of the DS Lite 'White'. It's almost like the color has been discontinued! Obviously, that makes a little sense if Nintendo is looking to launch the DSi here in the states. The white model of that is almost 100% sure to launch first. Could we be seeing the DSi in the states sooner than we think?

Either that or because the white DSLs are easier to break than the latest models. At least, that's what it seemed like when I compared my cousin's white one to my cobalt one.
It doesn't matter when the release date is. I won't buy it no matter what. Why should I buy it anyways? I don't play DS games that much. I don't care to spend the money. I know it has extra features, such as camera, and sd card. But thats nothing my phone can't do. They really need to let the DS series die, and make a new handheld.
yeah and today is a tuesday and lotr conquest came out so... I think it's likely that they'll ship it in March, but I didn't think they were that ready to launch yet
I still don't see the point of waiting to launch it.Once the u.s. go word of the DSi it would spread and almost anyone with a computer and likes video games would know.So if your the kind of guy who has a near-destroyed DS phat or light,or any one who just wants a new portable, why would you buy a ds lite(unless your a((and you know who you are))freak for gba games)when the DSi is coming out in a few months.
