Title: Oh wow, you learn something new everyday...
Post by: HTA! on December 14, 2008, 09:31:51 AM
I dabble with Samus a bit and usually I have no need for her grabs.
However, it led me to a discovery that made me think I'm a total dumbass. D:

Samus's Dash Grab is faster than her standing grab... and if you simply hit -> Z while standing you perform a dash grab without moving an inch.
Probably already discovered... probably common sense... but I never thought of it!

Anything like this happen to you?

Same here.

Also, Jiggilypuff's rest move. I could never figure out what exactly it did until I did it on accedent.

Enough of this nonsense.

Anyways, I didn't know that myself...but that's because I can't play as her at all. I need to try it out, HTA.

Wario's bike taunt.
Luigi's attack taunt only does 1%(Despite it looks strong)

It doesn't look strong. :/

I can't recall because I haven't played Melee in forever, but it even makes a pathetic "bloop" sound when you land it, and in Brawl, it makes the same "kling!" sound that you get when you use his Super Jump Punch with the right positioning/home-run bat.

Anyways, yeah the only thing that surprised me about any of the Smash games were the lackluster rosters. As great as the games are they never really put much thought into the rosters. Even when I was 8 years old I still thought it was stupid that jiggs was in.

I... wow, I feel like an idiot.  I just recently figured out a use for her morph ball that I didn't previously know, so I felt like an idiot, but now I can't even remember what it was I figured out.   :|

Yeah, use his taunt when an opponent is vulnerable hanging on the edge and see if it's useless.

It's still lame as hell that she's in the games. She's fun to play as no doubt, but of all the pokemon they could have used, they chose Jigglypuff because it was popular at the time.

That's lame.

I think jigglypuff is awesome, other than his special and throws addition in melee, i don't think his moveset has changed at all.

There were maybe... 3 good users I'm aware of.

Taj is Mewtwo god... but to my knowledge he wasn't too high up in tourney rankings...

I love Mewtwo, but I wouldn't want both him AND Lucario, and while I like the character of Mewtwo more, the fact that Lucario has a much much much better moveset and that Lucario is currently the only non-1st gen playable makes me want Lucario more.

Get rid of Mewtwo's suckiness, give us some characters from 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gen, and THEN Mewtwo can come take his spot back.  Until then, Lucario should be here to stay.

As for other gen reps, I'd recommend an IC-style duo of Espeon and Umbreon.  That would be awesome.  Also, the next PT should have starters from a different gen.  Might I suggest Mudkip, Grovyle, and Blaziken?

As long as they make it so that he doesn't hurt himself anymore, and redo his moves so he's not a clone.

I almost beat Zen (A.K.A the bunny Wolf) with Jigglypuff than the other characters. :P

Am I the only one who thinks that just because there are multiple generations of Pokemon, doesn't mean each one needs a rep?

3rd gen doesn't have a rep.
And I agree.
I still think Jiggly should go. I mean yea it was kinda funny at first and how she got in PURELY because of popularity in Japan, but she's taking a spot of someone much more worthwhile (like everyone else besides Jiggly)

I'd love having Magikarp in, and him being the most broken character ever to grace a Smash game.

It's kind of strange when you use a character that you've been using since the original that all of a sudden has new abilities.
