We have finished decking our halls today with the addition of a Christmas tree. In the spirit of the season of the holidays, I figured it'd be nice to discuss our favorite traditions from when we were all happy children eagerly awaiting Santa Claus. Back when it was Christmas, not the holidays. Personally, my favorite tradition is the family get together we have each year on Christmas Eve. My grandparents, aunts/uncles, and cousins all come over for the evening for a good time. It's something I look forward to almost as much as Christmas. I love the worry free enjoyment I get from just being with my family.
Now if you would be so kind, share your favorite traditions for the holidays. Be it something you do personally or with friends or family.
Seeing everybody in my family (I've got a pretty big family) on our Christmas Parties a while before Christmas and open presents from other parts of the family. It's nice to see them. :)
I don't have any Christmas traditions. I usually figure out what i'm going to do Christmas day. Never plan anything ^__^
But I am going to L.A. this year because I hate most of my family :)

I actually see this side of my family quite often, we're all really close. Which I found out as I went through school was not something as common as I thought.
We put out fancy santas and put up our artificial tree and decorate it and stuff.
That's about it.

I never really liked the whole fake tree thing, but it's good for some people.
Also, you don't get very festive. D= Not even any holiday cosplaying?
We usually just go down to see family. Were not best buds or anything, we see eachother like, 2-3 times a year. This year we're not doing it though. We're just staying home, and having a nice, quiet Christmas. I've been waiting for this style of Christmas a long time. :)

heh, nah, not really. I get into the mood sometimes, especially when I was shopping for gifts for a few people yesterday, but...I get more festive for some other holidays.
I can't wait for Towel Day this year, it's a school day this time.

=P
Usually on Christmas Eve my family goes to my grandma's house. Then on Christmas Day we open presents and hang out.
I miss thinking Santa was real. :(
But my parents still put 'From: Santa' on the presents. :P

We used to do that as a whole family. We'd reserve two pews in church for that mass and go together. Now most of my cousins and family go, but we stay behind and go to midnight mass. We also open gifts after my family leaves and we have a couple hours until mass.

I don't know how to reply, so I'll just say I'm pretty sure most everyone has some general traditions we follow. Like opening presents on Christmas Eve, or leaving cookies out for Santa when we are younger (or have younger ones around).
I have no idea what Christmas holds this year. I'm not doing anything to prepare here, though I will be getting gifts for my nuclear family.
