Title: Rhythm Tournament
Post by: Macawmoses on December 20, 2008, 04:34:58 PM
Back a couple of weeks ago, I made note that we at NSF would be doing a number of tournaments, with GH or Rock Band at the forefront.

With that, I want to know which game you want to use, and what system.

Guitar Hero 3, World Tour, Rock Band 2, etc.

We'll base it on popular vote, and leave all the fun stuff up to you. Silver will be in charge of operations, as he knows this board best.

Furthermore, any specific dates that would be best for you?

Any day after 5:30, really.

Who dares challenge me in a Vocals Tug of War in Rock Band 2?

I dares challenge you. They're Red Hot on Expert.

anyway, we need a RB2 tourney for 360. Any day is fine too.

Also, if you guys want, we could maybe do a couple of tourneys, one for each. Up to you.

Suggestion: either SMO or FFR mini-tourney, depending on which one has more members who have an account.  I'm guessing FFR, but SMO might work better for a tournament.

You'll have to wait until after Christmas. I'm getting appx. 3k Microsoft Points for Christmas, and I'm buying the Red Hot Chili Peppers album(s) and The Best of The Who.

I have a mean Daltrey impression.

I second that SMO tournament.

and I think it's safe to assume Blaziken would be an automatic third for SMO...

RB2 on PS3, my roommate has it.

I'll also have WT for the Wii shortly.

Also, preferably no DLC in the tournaments, I don't want to have to pay to play.

I think it'd be fair to say no DLC unless we know everyone has it.

Guitar Hero III for Wii, Rock Band 2 for 360. Possibly World Tour on 360, too.

Hm... no dates, really, maybe if it's done quick, then before the 7th of January, if not, oh well.

I have all of the games for the 360 (cept RB1, lent it to a friend), so any of that's good. I'm not much a DLC collector, so yeah.

But I play a mean plastic guitar. Not as mean as GM, Wave, and MH, but around Sonicdude skill. I can 5* any of the 360 GHIII songs/DLC except Revolution Deathsquad (yes, I've gotten TTFAF and DWDTG)

I think an FFR tourney would be a LOT easier to pull off than SMO. All you need to do is register an account. For SMO, you need to download the program, make an account, and download the songs. Also FFR doesn't randomly crash.

Does a certain tournament have to be for a specific game? Couldn't we just have it like they do at ScoreHero with cross-system leagues?

Also, I'm gonna be on a cruise from Dec. 27 to Jan. 3 so I can't be in a tourney until the 4th.  :(

I think it'd be fair to say no DLC unless we know everyone has it.

For RB2 you almost need DLC though. Almost every difficult song is DLC. Unless you want to have hardcore Float On battles. That or pick Painkiller, Blackened, Peace Sells (iluMegadeth), and Visions.

I would love to guitar battle on Thrasher and Caprici Di Diablo (sp).

Is true. The main reason people think that Rock Band is better than GH is because of the DLC edge. GH has better on disc songs than Rock Band, personally. And it's Caprici Di Diablo, you spelled it right. Though I can gold it, so anyone's ass is instantly kicked. >=D

Terribly outdated thread. We'll look into this again soon.
