Title: Uh...yeah.
Post by: Friendly Hostile on January 12, 2009, 04:20:03 AM
So I've had CS3 on this computer for a good while now.  However I've realized that I really don't know how to do much of well, anything, in Photshop short of making minor adjustments to images.  So I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions for tutorials on learning how to use the various aspects of PS for someone just starting to play around with it.  I feel like the program is just going to waste otherwise.

I'll give a 5-second tutorial of how to use one of the coolest tools, Clone Stamp.

Go to your tools.  Click the one that looks like a stamp.

Hold alt and click where you want to clone from (preferably a spot similar to what you want to remove in the image) and then release alt and start to color it in.  Watch that random arm or puppy or tree or UFO magically disappear!  Hoorah for doctoring photos.

Going into the "help" menu will lead to some minor tutorials.

The best thing to do is just play around with stuff. Try anything and everything.
That's how I learned to do stuff...admittedly I don't know too much about it though X_X;;

Layers are your friend, especially mixed with gradients and overlay options.
