Title: The Good Ol' Days
Post by: Doodle on January 15, 2009, 08:14:23 PM
What do you remember about your early childhood?
I remember always playing Super Mario World(the first Mario game I ever played) and Super Mario 64. And being obsessed with Mario. I used to always spin around then do a peace sign, shouting "Here we go!" :P
I also remember Pokemon being the biggest thing. The games and the cards. Even the show, which I remember waking up every morning for school and watching while eating breakfast.
I remember getting a magna-doodle for the first time. It was a thing where you had a magnetic pen thing that you could draw on, then move a little thing over to erase. It was awesome. :P
I used to love dinosaurs too, and I always drew them.

:)

I remember playing ALTTP and Sunset Riders. I wasn't even CLOSE to good as I am now.

I also remember watching Digimon all the time.

I was like obsessively playing Spyro and Crash Bandicoot.

I really liked Chocobo Racing for some reason, even though I had never heard of Final Fantasy at the time.  :-\

I also remember thinking that the whole Pokemon thing was stupid. It really wasn't THAT big where I went. Yu-Gi-Oh was, though.

Dragonball Z, everyday after school.
I used to love that show so much. Heck, I loved all of Toonami. I'll miss Tom. ;-;
Also, playing and beating SMRPG for the first time, my old GB games (WHERE DID TETRIS GO?), Pokemon, and stuff like that.

My childhood was mainly me playing video games and being the biggest badass out of all my kid friends because no one could ever beat me in Goldeneye.

10 years later, it's a whole different story. ;___;

I remember getting a Nintendo for Christmas when I was three, but never really got into video games until the Sega Genesis came out.  When it did, I believe I was in New York, and playing like.. this My Little Pony game.  Then when I moved back to California, I got Sega Channel from Cox Communications, and loved it.

When I moved to Las Vegas, I was completely obsessed with the 64.  My first game for that system was, of course, Mario 64.  I used to play that game as often as I could.  Then I got Mario Kart 64, and fell completely in love.  My friend and I used to play it together all the time, including Mario Party, Street Fighter for the Playstation, Crash Bandicoot and Um Jammer Lammy.

I remember renting Banjo-Kazooie because the box looked interesting, and then I found myself staying-up past my bedtime during school nights, begging my dad to let me find one more Jiggy before I go to bed.

One of my favorite memories was when I was in the Van with my dad, driving from Vegas back to Cali to visit my mom during the weekend.  I was reading a video game magazine, and looking at an article for a new Crash game.  The little lights that surrounded the ceiling of the van were glowing softly as I was laying down on the bed in the back.  I opened the curtain to reveal a wash of warm colors in the sky as the sun set behind the mountains.

Red, do you mean Crystal's Pony Tale? Because there was no My Little Pony game on the Genesis.

Oddly enough, I remember seeing footage of Um Jammer Lammy and having it freak me out cause I thought it was so weird.  :D

It was the opposite around here. Everyone loved Pokemon, and you probably were made fun of if you liked Yu-Gi-Oh.
Everyone called it You-Gay-Ho to make fun of it, too... lol.

The "good parts" of my child hood, was around Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Harvest Moon, and a few other games.  I would sort of hide up in my room and play those games for hours.  If I wasn't doing that, I was outside doing stuff.  Maybe making a tree fort or just walking around in the wilderness.

I remember playing Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt in my old basement...good times. Also, when I graduated preschool my parents got me a Game Boy Pocket and Pokémon Blue.

There's a lot more, but I'm too lazy to type right now.
