Title: Two Mysterious Timers - Counting Down To What?
Post by: Doodle on January 16, 2009, 09:39:34 AM
On the official Marvelous website(a company that helps make Harvest Moon and No More Heroes) has a weird Zelda themed timer on their website.

http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/30/

There's also another timer on the Japanese Sega website. But this one is a mushroom, that looks a little similar to a SMB mushroom. There's also various logos on the site. One says "Cero B," one is two gender symbols, and the other is what looks like a hand holding a knife. The mushrooms also makes a sound that sounds almost like the 1up sound.

http://pole.sega.jp/

There's also a video on YouTube that talks about both timers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv_5kWtMhCQ

The timer with the Triforces could be for a Zelda game. Maybe Nintendo is teaming up with this company to make one? Capcom has helped make a few Zelda games, so Nintendo teaming up to make another Zelda wouldn't be too surprising.
But I'm not sure about the Sega one. It looks like it could be Mario related. But I compared the sprites from this to the original SMB mushroom sprites, and they're not the same. Maybe a new Mario game, with Sega helping? But if that was the case, it would probably be for the DS. Our one console Mario came out already. :( Maybe a cross between Mario and Sonic, like that Crash and Spyro thing?
According to the video, both timers end at the same time. Just one is in seconds, while the other is in hours:minutes:seconds format. Hm...

EDIT: The Sega timer probably has nothing to do with Mario. There are lots of logos on the page, but no Nintendo logo.

They all end at the same time?

Weird, I can't wait to see what comes of this.

I predict a Zelda/Sonic mashup monstrosity.

I have a sense of another Zelda hand held =(!  I want a console game!  If it is gonna be Zelda, I want some sort of adventure game and no crappy, non-aventure, anti-gamer game!  It also seems to be counting down to E3 in July.

I really don't want to think about that, because that would be a mess.

Nintendo teaming up with the makers of Harvest Moon would mean they would be teaming up with Natsume, which would be an even bigger mess than letting Sega make it.

Hey, guys, change the day on your computer's internal clock to, I dunno, the 30th, and the zelda timer will say "Coming Soon".

Cool!

It's counting down to like a week from now...

Well, the Zelda-like timer is probably just that, but the Sega timer could be anything.

We'll find out soon...

Actually, I just noticed something. The Sega timer probably has nothing to do with Mario. There are lots of logos on the page, but no Nintendo logo.

They don't end at the same time...

Check your math.

60 x 60 x 24 x 37 is approx. 3.6 Million Seconds, not 1.9 Million.

On the Sega site, you can click on the orange U in "produce" and it brings you to a different page talking about a game...

Check your math.
6x 60 x 24 x 37 is approx. 3.6 Million Seconds, not 1.9 Million.
Oh. I didn't try to figure it out, but I think that's what the video said.

Awww, you beat me to it. But here's a short list of clickables that are on the Sega Clock site.

Click the Mushroom
Click the "T" in "Takao" (http://prope.sega.jp/letstap/)
Click the "P" in "Produce" (Doesn't lead to anything...but still.)
Click the U in "Produce" (http://u-can.sega.jp/)
Click the "C" in Coming Soon (http://prope.sega.jp/letscatch/)
Click the SEGA logo at the bottom right of the screen

Ok, so, doing the math:

Zelda timer end: 23 Jan. 12:00 AM (Midnight.)

Sega Timer end: 23 Jan. 6:00 PM

Same day, different hour.

Also, Clicking on the links, "Let's Tap" and "Let's Catch" seem to be two games. They seem lame though.

Weird.

Oh well. A Zelda game seems inevitable, anyways.

Mine says that one timer ends in 37 days, and that the other ends in a little over 17 days. :|

37 days in seconds- about 3.196 Million

Zelda timer- About 1.8 Million seconds

But at this time (I took them both at the same time), the Sega timer says 5 days, 5 hours, and 38 minutes and the "Zelda" one ends in 387480 seconds which /60/60/24= about 4.5 days, so I don 't know where you're getting 37 from

Well, the timers both end tomorrow. I'm a little anxious, to be truthful. Will it be another Zelda? And what will it be like?

Well, look at us, quick to assume it's the first timer was Zelda.

Damn, my hopes were up. =(

Well, the first one is a huge disappointment. Second timer looks promising.
I mean really, the first one looked like it would be a cool Zelda game. :(

The second timer seems to be a NES-style game for Wiiware, by Sega. Looks like it's hitting Wiiware on the 2nd, in Japan.

Interesting. D=

Yeah, at E3 they said they were working on a new one.
