Uh... simple question, how modern are your school's computers? If you're not in public/private (meh, college can count I guess) school anymore, how old were they when you still attended?
My school seems to have the computers varying from about 5-12 years old. I'm in two classes with computers. Computer Business Skills class has computers about 8-12 years old, they run Windows 95 and have Office 2000. My Digital Design class has what seems to be rather old Windows XP computers, as if they were purchased not long after XP was first released (that class also uses Office 2000, but has some Adobe things too).
In the school I used to go to, the computers were pretty up to date. Latest programs and everything. They never really screwed up on us either.
Well, until this year (we got a recent dell model, not sure what though >_>) we've been using Windows 95 systems.
No Vistas though...
The Dells are new. They run Vista.
My Macbook Pro is also new.
Computer Ntworking Class has Optiplex GX260's I believe. I helped the teacher expand the RAM though, so we could run Vista on them.
Half of them are old, half are new.
They're, uh.... black. The new ones are. The old ones are that kind of gray-ish color.
That's my computer knowledge. :0)
Probably most are around 4 or 5, but we have some that are 1 year old, some that are 2 or 3.

Most new computers are Black, or Brushed Silver. It's the trend.
We've had them for one year, but they're really crappy. They run XP Embedded, so we have to connect to one server, which has 8 CPUs and 8gb of RAM. Which isn't nearly enough to run 30 instances of Windows Server 2003.

So that's what it's called, XP Embedded?
Yeah, my school uses that too.

Shouldnt you need... 512MB Times 30?

Actually, the most needed in lots of school situations is either 128 or 256MB...
The computers at my school have Photoshop installed but can't open it because of RAM deficiency... I can't check how much RAM is actually accessible because right-click is disabled on desktop and there is no start menu, but I'm pretty sure that it's a lot less than 256MB, since I had exactly that much about 6 months ago...
A half a year at most I'd estimate.
We have XP Home Edition :|
The school isn't buying Vista, yet the computers have more then enough of everything needed to run it, amazingly.
A few years maybe? They run XP
they themselves are updated every few years, but they all run windows 2000. -_-

The computers at my school might overheat or something if you tried to run Vista on them...
They probably have less than or about 1/4 the needed RAM and a processor that is like 1/6 the minimum for Vista, along with having the hard disk drives only storing up to 2GB or so...

General rule of computing.
