Title: Winter, a game on the brink of cancellation.
Post by: Tupin on January 21, 2009, 12:01:27 PM
Winter is an action adventure game made by the makers of Geist. While it initially got good response from test groups, later testers were basically under the thought "Why are you putting a mature game on a console for kids?", which leaves Winter without a publisher.

The trailer in that link is early footage, created in only SIX WEEKS. Imagine what they could do with a year or two.

When Nintendo made a system for everyone, I think they left out the EVERYONE part.  :|

Wait, what. They're going to cancel it...because they think the Wii is for kids?

I was fine with Casual games (VC FTW), but this is f***ing ridiculous. It actually looks like a good game, too.

I'm sorry, last I checked this wasn't the V-Smile.

Why is the battle music ripped from the lord of the rings?

But it looks pretty cool.
They better not cancel it.

It's placement music.

Geist was a HUGE failure, and the market believes that Wii isn't fit for a survival horror game and publishers don't want to handle a new IP.

There's a link to a petition on GoNintendo, sign it.

I bought Geist...though I agree that it was pretty disappointing.

So did Nintendo.

maybe if they did publish it, they would get others to publish other 'mature' games for the wii, someone has to do it first

it looks like it has potential, but it still looks like crap (for the amount of time though, it shows the dedication they had to the project)

Microsoft should pick up whatever the company is and make it into a real game.  Give them real money (we all know that nintendo doesn't give third party companies any money to produce with, hence why they produce shovelware), and a real machine to work with.

I'm wondering what the story is though

Also, lol, LOTR music
