Title: Games you thought you wouldn't like but did.
Post by: Shujinco2 on February 09, 2009, 12:39:11 PM
I just recently got Boom Blox. It looked like one of those stupid games Nintendo has been putting out lately.

However, right away, I really liked playing it. Like, alot. It kinda surprised me.

Have anything like this ever happened to any of you people? I'm pretty sure it has.

I thought Kirby Superstar was a kiddy, faggoty-looking game.

Then I played it.

Awesome.

Awesome.
Why the intercourse  would you think that in the first place? >_>

Also, I thought Halo Wars was going to suck major ass. However, for making an RTS for a console, they tried pretty darned hard to make it good, and they did well.

World of Goo
I can't think of anymore, I'll edit them in when I do.

Tales of the Abyss; after playing ToS a few years ago, and hearing it was the same, I thought I'd be bored.

Sure its sort of generic, but its fun nonetheless.

Call of Duty: World at War.
I didn't really like shooters. Until now.
That game is addicting...

World of Goo
Trauma Center: Second Opinion (first game I played in the series, now I own all 4)
Super Smash Bros 64. Until it, I never liked any fighting games, and since, I still haven't played any other fighting games I like besides the Smash series.
Starcraft. Really the first PC game I played, and I thought it was like a space shooter game or something like that until playing it >_>
Animal Crossing Wild World

The LEGO Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Batman games.  They actually entertained me a bit.

Quite the oppisite for me. The cutscenes were funny at times, but the gamneplay was ugh.

It's best played with a Classic Controller.
Dual joysticks and such.

I can say, that Tony Hawk's Pro skater 2 made me have doubts. I wasn't a fan of sports games at the time. Well, I picked it up, and now it's one of my favorite games on the N64.

Yeah, it was surprisingly fun and addictive for a sports game.
