Well, it's officially confirmed with it's first teaser. Without much surprise, snowboarding is going to use the balance board (making this event being even more ridiculous and difficult to control I bet). Also, there will be unlockable and new characters. (my guess is on Bowser Jr. and Silver...ugh)
So, yay another minigame package instead of an actual game starring Mario and Sonic doing things they're supposed to be doing...like platforming.

No way I'm getting this one. MaSatOG was enough. Besides:
Winter Olynpics<<<Summer.
The Mario and Sonic franchises continue to sell out. Nothing new.
Someone took a toothbrush, stuck it up Miyamoto's ass, and the Mario/Sonic Olympic Games idea fell out.
It's poop. And this one will be poop too.
The Wii has what 30+ Mini-game compilation titles?
IT DOESN'T NEED ANY MORE!!! :robotangry:

Sega are the ones publishing the game, not Nintendo. The only thing Nintendo did wrong was to give them the rights to have this game made.
I'm not surprised.
I only played the first one a handful of times. Not going to buy this one.

Miyamoto designed a whole bunch of the minigames... he and Iwata were the only ones actually excited to do this. Everyone else in NOJ were basically "Uh...why? Other than getting Sonic in Brawl this is just a cheap cash-in"

Though is Sega's fault again in the end.

True true....
they're both being massive sell-outs...
I honestly don't think it will be that bad, nor do I feel the last was done poorly. It's completely different. If you don't want mini-games, don't buy into...minigames. Hell, most Olympic games are minigame compilations. The Mario and Sonic take on it all is just another way to expand the audience of those characters, and the Olympics.

My disappointment just stems from three things:
1. The Wii has enough mini-game compilations as it is.
2. They aren't taking advantage of having Mario and Sonic characters in a game together. Instead of being "Mario and Sonic at the Olympics", it's more like "The Olympics videogame...with Mario and Sonic in it"
3. For an unrealistic game about plumbers, hedgehogs, dragons, mad scientists, and the like...it still makes no sense (what's the point of the track events? No one but Sonic and Shadow should ever win...regardless of skill since it's all waggling anyway)
But that's just me and you know how nitpicky I can be, so yea ::)

nitpicky doesn't start to explain the half of it.
