What's the one moment in Nintendo history that you remember more vividly than anything else?
Slicing through Ganondorf in OoT? Getting your first Pokemon? Bowser emerging from the lava as Dry Bowser, in NSMB? What?
The one I'll always remember is Macbeth on Star Fox. The whole level, really, but the actual boss battle was pretty memorable to me. HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT THE BREEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKS.
Yours?
The first Nintendo game I owned was Super Mario World 2, and getting Yoshi for the first time was very memorable for me.
Getting Wii Sports :P
Okay, to be serious, when I managed to make a what I dubbed "super Machine" in F-Zero GX (It kicks ass. Super turning... Fast, yeah).
Or seeing the Chozo Ghosts in Metroid Prime for the first time.
Or my first completion of Super Mario Bros.
I have 3:
1. Turning on Mario 64 for the first time. It was so cool to see Mario in 3D and actually say stuff. "HELLO!" I couldn't even beat the first star without my mom's help (she plays Mario and Pac-Man)
2. Beating Super Mario Bros. for the first time
3. FINALLY getting past that first darn barrel shooting level in the Ice World in Donkey Kong Country. God that first level is a ninny.
finally beating super mario world for the first time
My first playthrough of Paper Mario. Good times.
Going through all the eviorenments in Paper Mario 1. Wow that game was really good.
Also, getting all the artifacts in Metroid Prime 1. Wow they were a ninny to collect, especially when you don't use a guide. ::)
Defeating the Holoholo Bird from Baten Kaitos for the very first time was a really memorable moment for me. I still won't forget how hard that boss was and how underleveled I was.
I remember beating the last of Koga's Pokemon with a really under-leveled Charmelon . I think it was Charmelon, at least.
4 players on Mario Party 2.
Beating the REAL Bowser in SMB Deluxe.
Beating Master Hand for the first time.
Playing Super Mario World for the first time.
...*sigh*
The opening scene for ssbm... so epic.
Beating Paper Mario (very satisfying and best credit sequence of all time), Ocarina of Time (OoT Beast Ganon is the coolest boss ever), Wind Waker (odd how the most kiddyish Zelda at the time had the most graphic ending at the time), and Majora's Mask (most involving Zelda story, making it you almost tearfully happy when you see all your hard work finally paying off... oh, and FIERCE DEITY LINK FTW!!!).
Defeating Tabuu for the first time. That was one heck of an epic fight. I only had 1 of my 6 characters left. I had over 100 percent damage. I got hit by a move, couldn't get back, BUT, right before I got hit I throwed a Green shell into the air and that finished Tabuu while I was going to be defeated. XD

EPONA COME BACK!!!! WHYYYYY NINTENDO WHYYYYYY!!?!?!?!???!?!?!? *goes and sobs in a corner*
Zelda needs another story like that! Deep and involving!
Oh, I forgot another memorable moment: when Peppy died. In Assault, Peppy kamikazes the Great Fox into the Aparoid home world, and while it later reveals that he used an escape pod, IT BLEW MY MIND. I remember that I actually believed he was dead (it doesn't reveal the truth until after you beat the game), and when it happened, I just stared, mouth agape for a few seconds before saying aloud "OH MY GOSH PEPPY'S DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!1!!11!!!!!" It was definitely motivation to finish up what was an otherwise disappointing story (though an awesome game, MAKE ANOTHER NINTENDO!).
Yeah, Peppy crashing in to the homeworld was pretty darn intense. I couldn't believe it.

It was something I don't think anyone expected...which was nice.
Too bad it couldn't have been Slippy though...and the escape capsule not work... X_X;;
Yeah. And for Nintendo to do something that violent is kind of amazing.
And Slippy isn't that bad. .-.
1. Thinking I beat OoT after killing Ganondorf, only to find out I still had to fight Ganon.
2. Beating Super Mario Bros. for the first time.
3. Beating Bowser in the Sky for the first time in Super Mario 64.
4. Completely owning all of the bosses in Majora's Mask with the Fierce Deity's Mask. :P
My first Blue shell in Mario Kart :D
No? K, then beating Allegretto on SSBB when he was using Link.
No? Then finding Star Road on Super Mario World
Id have to say it was when I was a wee lad, and I had just stumbled upon me first battle with andross in starfox 64 with my Da', I paused the game and was cryin' from fear. The bastard scared meh for years to come. Now I own em every time I play, but the memory of me as a wee lad is still there.

How did that scare you? Was it Braindross?

Even braindross wasn't that bad.
I always hated the Forest Temple in OoT as a kid, and for some reason the Haunted Mansion in Mario 64 scared the bejeezus outta me when I was 5, but I quickly got over it.
Yeah, but Braindross was at least acceptable.
Nintendo wasn't that scary.

But they sure as hell knew how to make atmosphere...something they really don't know how to do now.
It's amazing how Mario 64 and OoT/MM have more feel to it than any of the games after them...
Yes, a proper atmosphere is something they were excellent at. The mood is what makes memorable moments.

I still say the Forest Temple was the ultimate in terms of their creative greatness at that. Even today that place gives me the chills. The outdated graphics kinda hurt it, but it's still better than most games today. I just want to know where this talent went in recent years. Only Galaxy has actually had that feeling on the Wii, and even then it's not as good as all those N64 games and Metroid Prime X_X;;
Screw you all, I was 8. I was scared of half the stuff in OoT and forgive me for being afraid of a giant head with a creepy monkey face and a creepy laugh. although the brain was even worse. I was so scared when he turned into a robot too............bahhhh.
When I beat Kirby's Dreamland on the NES. It was the first video game I ever completed.

I can't even recall fully and with 100% certainty the first game I beat.
When I think of Nintendo memories I always recall Mario Bros for the NES. I don't remember the exact stage, but it was full of the little hammer brothers that toss assloads of hammers, killing me, and making me repeat the whole level. I hated them with great intensity, just thinking about them makes wanna go FFDUIBFUBUFDEUIFGVBUISGVJSGBUJAGB
I also remember playing through Superstar Saga for the first time. There were so many plot twists in that game. I remember walking around in Bowser's ship with Luigi in the dress and smiling to myself.
Heh. I forgot about SS. Half of the game is a memorable moment.
