Title: Pokémon Trainer
Post by: Blaperile on March 01, 2009, 11:07:28 AM
Would you like a second (or more) Pokémon Trainer in the next Super Smash Bros (if there comes one)? Or do you want the original to be replaced? What Pokémon do you want that he/she has?

You can discuss that here.

I think there should come a Pokémon Trainer for every generation called Red (that's the one now), Blue (female), Yellow (Male) and Green (Female).

Red: Pokémon he has now.

Blue: Totodile, Bayleef, Thyplosion.

Yellow: Mudkip, Grovyle, Blaziken.

Green: Piplup, Grotle, Infernape.

I kind of want the PT character to be removed if they do make another.

It would be cool but they should swith it up
like
not always have the fire type be the last evo.
Blaziken and Infernape would work fine, but maybe switch Typh with feraligator

It should involve Sceptile.

I agree with Skye.  If they took that path, it would be kind of bland to always have Water be the first evo, Grass be the second evo, and Fire be the third evo.  Not only would switching it up help add some "spice" to the fighting, but some evos work better than others for Smash.  Plus, playing as Feraligator would be awesome. ;D

Red and Blue are both in the first generation. Red is supposed to be Ash, and Gary is supposed to be Blue.
But the names aren't really important. It would be cool to have a G/S/C or R/B/E Pokemon Trainer, though.

G/S/C Trainer(Silver?):
Chikorita
Quilava
Feraligtr

Not sure about the R/S/E trainer, there's a lot of good choices. D:

I say they should have the same moves, but different pokemon and a girl costume change.  I think the best would be 3rd gen:

Squirtle=Mudkip
Ivysaur=Grovyle
Charizard=Blaziken (he's a bird, so all the fly stuff could still work on smash)

Personally, they should consolidate Pokemon into 4 Reps.

PKMN Trainer (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard) *Brawl Rep*
Girl Trainer (Jiggs, Lucario, Pichu) *Covers all past Poke*
Pikachu *Mascot*
Mewtwo *"Most Powerful" and one of most recognized...add new moveset*

Those would be great Pokemon reps. Hell, it wouldn't need a new rep in a new game with two returning characters in Pichu and Mewtwo.

IMO there's enough Pokemon already =(  I'd rather they expand on other series, unless they expand the roster a whole lot.

I would be fine with this.

good idea.

I don't know about Pichu. I'd rather get a new Pokemon, not a weak Pikachu.

Pichu was just pointless to me.
I'm sure they could have came up with a better G/S/C than that.
Hitmontop seems fit for Smash, that could have been a neat choice.

It needs to be an important character too, and the Hitmons lack in that department.  Whatever the new pokemon is needs to be popular from the anime (Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Pichu, Mewtwo, Lucario) or from the games (Pikachu, PTs starters).

If another Smash Bros. is made, I find it likely for PT to be completely removed for some new character, maybe follow some pattern and use G/S/C starters, or maybe they'll use R/S/E/D/P/Plat
Also, I find it VERY unlikely that they'll use any Pokémon other than starters/relatedness (EX: Hitmons [for relatedness]), otherwise they'd just use those Pokémon as normal playables.

Along with Mewtwo, I would have loved to see Meowth as a playable character, but I doubt he ever will be.

No matter how much you and a bunch of other nerds want that, I promise you it will NEVER happen. Jiggles will be in Smash forever.

I still don't get how she got in in the first place.  I mean, was she really more popular/important than the other 149 pokemon in the series at the time?

Besides Charizard, yes, but only because the series made her a character in the series, she sings, everyone sleeps, she gets mad, and draws on their faces. That made her very popular.
