Title: Wii Colors
Post by: Macawmoses on March 02, 2009, 05:44:00 PM
Remember when we were told we were getting differently colored Wiis? Whatever happened to that?

I can just imagine the DS set of colors on Wii, and all selling well, too. Was this canned because it was popular enough as is? Is there any news on it? I've been wondering for a while.

They said they would make new colors as soon as they could keep them on shelves. Which they can do now.

What happened to that bright red Wii we saw when it was still the Revolution?

Or lime green, black, or platinum/silver.
I want a Wiimote that matches my DS Lite's color (Navy), but considering the states haven't even gotten that DS Lite color yet after Japan has had it for over two years now, that doesn't seem like it's a color that Nintendo likes very much.

New colors would be cool.
But it would be a hassle, too. If you get...let's just say an "electric blue" Wii, like the DS color.
You'll probably want matching controllers.
Though that would also be a money maker for Nintendo, for people who wanted their Wiis and controllers to match.

well, the thing is, if they release new colors now, it's not like a DS you can trade it in, the Wii has are your memory stored on it...so i would think that if they were to release new colors, it would be on the Wii 2

In terms of marketing, that actually sounds good.

All they'd need to do is offer some kind of solution (Oh look, Wii Storage Solution coming soon) and incentive (color and slight price discount/upgrade). People will flock to it like they do everything of nintendo's.
