The Werehog that is.
An interview I read on GoNintendo confirmed that our lovely Werehog friend would live again. Lovely!
So, are you as enthusiastic as this as I am? Didn't think so. They need to seriously overhaul it for next time - put the focus on power, yes, but don't kill of elements of speed. Oh, and make the game 50/50 in terms of Werehog vs. Sonic, AT MOST.
Seriously, the Werehog wasn't terrible...but that much focus on it wrecked Unleashed.
Thoughts?
I'm sick of Sonic games. Between the stubborn developers and one of the most easily mad off fanbases ever, I'm just sick of it.
The series needs a rest.
GAH!? WHY SEGA WHY!?!?
WEREHOG SERVED NO PURPOSE!!!!
I hope that report is a fake. The werehog was beyond bad...no one actually liked it! If this actually happens Sonic Team is filled with the biggest morons in the history of the gaming world.
God, it's what single handedly caused the massive buzz that the day levels were. Dammit SEGA just MAKE THE GAME ALL DAY LEVELS AND IT'D BE GREAT!
Take SA2. Enhance graphics based on XBOX360 and PS3. Use the Hedgehog Engine. Have an Online and Updated Chao Garden. All day levels. Success.

But SEGA will never do it, because they listen to what people want, then do the exact OPPOSITE...
Sega, you aren't Nintendo. Just give us a graphically enhanced Sonic Adventure 2 with a few new levels and we'll be fine.

They just don't have Naka around to tell them what to do so they're lost at all times now and don't actually think...
Every development team like that needs someone to guide them.
Naka must have appointed bad people in his place, because if Miyamoto left the Mario dev team, they would still be able to make a good game because they think, "Is this something he would be proud to put his name on?"

Miyamoto is still in charge of everything Mario and Zelda related. He isn't involved in the "day to day" things, but the plot, gameplay concepts, controls, etc. all have to pass by him before they get implemented.
Naka was always the man in charge at SEGA while he was there. Nothing got done until he said so (mostly because he's more than a little egotistical), but the man knew what he was doing most of the time. He was slightly involved in 06, but because of Microsoft annoying him about release, the dev team wanting to do things he didn't like, etc. were the ultimate reasons of him leaving SEGA and starting PROPE. Again, I think this all stems from a lack of clear leadership within Sonic Team... (Naka was never one for gimmicks and only said okay to the Heroes idea of teams because it actually brought ideas that could conceivably enhance gameplay, I remember reading somewhere that Naka basically wanted SA3 with just running and minor sections of shooting for plot purposes).

06 has somehow found another way to piss us off.
