Um, between Heroes, Shadow, 06, Secret Rings, Rush, Rush Adventure, Unleashed, Black Knight, Chronicles, M&S@Olympics, and the Riders games, there's of course plenty of complaints. But they have to have done something right in at least one of those games, I'd think.
- Out of the ones I've played, I think at least music is pretty good in Unleashed, Chronicles, and Rush 1.
- Riders 2 is a pretty good improvement over Riders 1 really, taking away the twirling analog stick, adding in camoes of other Sega characters, and not adding any seriously new Sonic characters (other than a couple of... robots, which aren't significant at all). Unless you're just racing Sonic vs. Shadow vs. Metal Sonic, footraces aren't really fair between all the characters unless they pull an Olympic Games, so I won't really complain about the hoverboards.
- Between Cheese the Chao and the Chronicles chao, they're at least not completely whiping out Chao's existance.
- Rush does have relatively good 2D platforming, though I liked it better in the Sonic Advance games, because Rush is a bit too fast.
- Unleashed has the day stages
Shadow, Heroes, Secret Rings, and 06 tried to create new things, which failed. Rush and Rush Adventure look ok. MaSatOG is good for "some" people, like Casual gamers. Unleashed looks pretty good, with the best levels (day) since Adventure.
Rush in it's entirety
Unleashed's Day levels
That's really about it everything else ranges from "meh" (Secret Rings, and Riders) to piece o' poop (Sonic 06)...
The Sonic Rush series.
Sonic's voice.
Theme songs.
Music ( Great in all 3-D sonic games, and the only good thing about 06)
Day levels of unleashed
Hedgehog engine
Making Shadow not emo anymore
Rush series
Sword mechanic in black knight. (It's really fun to kill enemies)

*incoming buzzkill, be prepared Triforce*
The Hedgehog engine is just a light (as in illumination) engine in conjunction with Havoc... basically their animation studio made it to coincide with the CG cutscenes, and Sonic Team used it to make the light blur effects during daytime gameplay. A neat idea, but hardly anything Sonic Team/Sega themselves did X_X;;
