This means the DSi can play any DS game out there, it'll just be region locked in terms of new properties. Sort of good news for those that were worried, I suppose.
I'm not a fan of region locking at all though. Thoughts?
well I'm glad this got cleared up ;)
I've been stuck with not knowing what to think.
I don't like region locking (I know nintendo said all about parental setting) because if say people wanted to import the DSi from Japan because the US launch was set to late 09, I would want to import one.
I really dislike the idea of region locking. Why can't someone play a Japanese DS game on their Australian DS if that person wants to? What is a company to tell me I can't watch foreign movies on my American DVD player?
Meh. Doesn't really effect me.
I don't import foreign games, or anything like that.

Very true. But when the DVD player producer also produces all of the DVD's, it seems as if they could.
