Sorry guys, I'm not feeling up to posting anything ridiculous right now.
Anyway, I stayed up all night procrastinating, and to do that I learned this song on my guitar:
I felt it was time I learned a ToS song, and that's my favorite song in the game, so yeah.
I've also been working on a much harder video game song:
Much trickier, especially one part that kinda needs to be tapped if it's going to sound right, and I've honestly never been much good at tapping. But god darn, I love the song so much I just gotta learn it. I already know several other themes from that game, at least part way. The whole MMX series is just a treasure trove of songs perfect for translating to an electric guitar.
And lastly, I started learning this last night, but worked a lot harder on the above two.
I don't think I've ever played more guitar in one night. Too bad I didn't get my homework done.
Anyway, for those of you who play instruments, have you been working on any video game songs lately?
I know how to play Mega Man 2: Dr. Wily stage theme, and the intro to Mega Man X on my guitar, but that's it as far as video game music goes.
If I ever learn to play bass, I'd probably play the SMB 1-1 theme once I got the basics down D:
Mega Man music is always catchy. :)

I agree, save a few tracks.
Cool to hear, Kaz. I'm no musician, so I've been practicing nothing.
Hey, cool songs. Good luck with learning that. *Glances over at foot high stack of sheet music* >_>
Nice.
I haven't really delved into video game music terribly much with my trumpet. Of course, I've done a few songs (Star Wolf Theme from Sargasso, wonky Bramble Blast, etc) but nothing hardcore.
well...taken that I only make electronic music, that would mean remixing. I'm terrible at doing original remixes or remakes of video game music. I've tried. I like to stick to original material, since what I go in with really always changes into something I like better. I even attempted to remix one of my own songs and it didn't work out the way I planned :D

That's the first Mega Man song I ever learned how to play. I actually prefer playing a slower, improvised version that I came up with over the original song.
I'd like to learn an instrument, but I'm too lazy. :(
I think guitar would be cool, but they're so expensive...
Not to mention everyone plays guitar.

no clue how we could do that though.
Are you good at sound mixing or anything like that?
This thread makes me want to get a new cube controller so I can play Tales again.

But more importantly, does it not sound like poop, and do you have a good amp setup to run it through?

my amp is meh, but it holds tune well and has a great sound (has zebra stripe pickup iirc)
Only VG songs I can play on the guitar is the LoZ theme song and the Metroid Prime menu music.
That ToS one seems interesting to learn though.

Fiddle around with your guitar more and you'll accidentally discover a lot of themes. From just goofing around is how I discovered the LoZ theme, Kakariko Village, a couple themes from FF6, Tetris, Dr. Mario, etc.
