fantastic blog written for "ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com" about Sonic's continuity within the games and the tv show.
Quite a few of the things I knew (mostly about SoJ and SoA discontent in the Saturn era, especially about story functions for Sonic. Most notably whether to include Sally into the main cannon or to continue to use Amy who had just been establish *irony that in american Sega CD book, Amy is referred to as Sally*).
While some of the things I didn't know about the SoA freedom in the early days, especially when it came to the Archie comic and DiC cartoons (AoStH, and SatAM).
A very well thought out article with a lot of good information. It's a really good read. Although to me I'll always want the SatAM/early Archie story of Mobius (which wasn't a mispronunciation by Naka apparently) and the Freedom Fighters. But that's just me. After all, I was very young at the time, so that's what I grew up with.
It's funny how despite the attempt to be "different" from Mario, the eventual storyline in the early days was pretty much made the exact same way as Mario and Zelda were (tv/manga/merchandising to create the "official" cannon). But I guess I'm just one of those older fans wishing for "the good old days" as the article says XD
