Title: Well, Nintendo's doomed.
Post by: Neerb on March 25, 2009, 05:12:25 PM
Despite what the article's literally about, I felt it belonged in this section due to the issue it raises.  However, if it would be better off in another section, please move it.

A company called GameTrak is making a new controller for the 360 (and later for PS3 as well) called Freedom.  Freedom is a motion control-based remote, looking and acting awfully similar to the Wiimote, only Freedom actually does it BETTER due to more advanced tech, including having two sensor bars instead of one and the ability to recognize full motion, rather than the Wiimote's habit of being easily tricked by a flick of the wrist.

The facts that Microsoft has had more hardcore games, has a stronger console, has better online, and not to mention the fact that Nintendo is blatantly refusing to make the good games and series that made them popular, means that essentially the only thing keeping Nintendo up right now is their motion controls, which have provided a more entertaining gaming experience and encouraged more people to become casual gamers.  However, with Microsoft and Sony getting an even better version soon, I think Nintendo is either going to have to stop their shovel-ware crap and get back to making good games, or end up worse than they did in the Gamecube era.

one thing i can tell is, if mirrosoft, and sony are getting it, the PS3 is more powerful than the 360, so it's sony who comes out on top if they make it work.

i see a new shooter game coming with this new controller...

I don't see Sony coming out on top.  They have the least amount of good exclusive games, and there's still the fact that it's the most expensive console and therefore the least available to the public.

Your too easily impressed. That article clearly shows all the positives but not many setbacks. Nintendo has motion control down quite a bit, I doubt sony or microsoft can jump in so quick and be as good. Nintendo isnt out yet.

Whether Microsoft or Sony can pull this off or not, this might might encourage Nintendo to start pleasing their fans more.

Except it's not a standard controller for the system. The Wiimote is. No one will give a poop about it, just like the Eyetoy.

Also, Nintendo already has a giant ass fanbase. Doomed? Nope.
