Title: Is Platiinum that different?
Post by: Red on April 27, 2009, 08:41:23 AM
I've found myself playing Diamond a lot lately, and I was just wondering if Platinum was that different. I've been considering buying it, but held off.

Should I?

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. I haven't played it through all the way yet, I got to Canalave a while ago and have just been busy... But it has a lot of new features that, imo, are worth buying it for. Besides, it's only $30, if you are tight on money, just sell your Diamond version.

I'll tell the differences:
-The plotline has changed. Now there are more events through Sinnoh.
-The 210 Sinnoh Pokemon have new sprites.
-The Pokemon from your side, when they enter in battle, have different animations.
-Important trainers, such as Gym Leaders and your Rival, have moving sprites.
-Battle are faster, meaning you can fight even faster than before.
-The main characters have new clothes.
-Cyrus has a bigger role in the game.
-Battle Frontier added.
-Many different items can be obtained at different places.
-Rotom, Giratina and Shaymin have different forms.
-A place where you can fight the Gym Leaders and partners daily is open after you complete the game and met certain requirements.
-And many more.

Fucking finally. I'll get the game just for that.

Thank god, I know. X_X;;

I still demand an item after the E4 that auto repels all wild battles. After the E4 you really have to reason to suffer through random battles when you're trying to travel to certain places, and you can always turn it off X_X;;

One last question, can you play online with random people? Or do you still need Friend Codes?

At the Battle Frontier, but as recorded teams.

And yeah, but Platinum. You'll note a lot of similarities - as they keep the core, but the updates are oustanding.

The biggest difference, as a semi-competitive battler, is the update movepools. Platinum changed everything in terms of battling. Oh, and aesthetically, the game is intercourse ing brilliant.

coughRepelcough
If there was an item that repeles wild pokémon permanently (I know you'd be able to turn it on & off), that would just be stupid, and it would never happen.

The closest item would be that Tag item to make a Pokémon hold it and prevent wild battles.

yes. they almost totally redid the storyline, and there are many features that i get bugged by my friends who dont have it to use on their pokemon, like the tutors. its not an entirely different game, so lots of people are against it.

its not offensive, its just a pain in the butt to have to look at such foolishness. it also wastes space on the page and makes it longer for the slower computers to load.

All right, I can agree to that. Next time I'll just make it shorter.  :P But as for the foolishness, I can't guarantee anything.  ;D

Yes, I did. But how is one post spam? I don't understand. I would think multiple posts would be, but I just don't understand how one post is.

Frog, Spam is an annoying message, or something stupid and pointless. Repeating letters like that is spam. Also, don't try to use your dumbass "logic" here with these questions, like "how does one post spam?" It doesn't take a genius to know that you're acting like an idiot.
