In case you have been living under a rock, NSFCD has added a Wiki (http://www.nsfcd.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page). Sign in with your forum data, twice (the first time imports, second logs in). Easy as that, and you too can contribute to our Wiki.
It's glorious. Like all features, I shall craft a contest for this one. Well, 5 mini ones. We'll determine the prize based on how awesome you guys do, and blah blah blah. Rumor is Vaati will add one of you to his friends list and I'll send you a used condom! Fantastic!
The contest itself is simple,
all you have to do is make a Wiki Page. IS THAT SO HARD?
However, there are certain criteria and such. First, each entry must be from one of the following categories:
- Forum Staff
- Significant Events ie. FCD Merge, NS2 Purchase, Creation of NSF
- Art Spoof (Vidya Games, Movies, Books). *Article will be based on one of these, but must be a "spoof". ie. Star Whores
- Memes
- Pokemon This is the only one that should be semi-serious, I'd like legit entries
5 really different categories. Each can be presented as you see fit. I'll also note that a special bonus category is for those of you that can make Wiki Templates. If you're interested, pm me.
Now, the rules.
1. Page needs to be named as such:
QuotePage_Author
ie. Pikachu_Mack
2. Entry must not include copy-pastes from other sites like Wikipedia.
3. Each entry must be posted in this thread.
4. A max. of two entries, per person, per category.
5. Edits are allowed until the deadline (MAY 10, MOTHERS DAY).
6. You must not edit other users entries. If you do so, you face being banned from the Wiki, and a warning on the forum.
7. RABBLE RABBLE RABBLEPlease try out the Wiki, and submit as many entries as you can!
Get to it.
You can have fun editing my article too.
Hmm... Can we use Wikipedia info just to help support whatever we're saying? (maybe with quotes and then in Parenthesis Wikipedia)
EX: "Pichu evolves into Pikachu" (Wikipedia)
You can use sources, yes. A fully footnoted entry (in terms of being serious) will score bonus points for sure.
So, do we make a Wiki page for it?
Or do we just post it here, with all of the code the Wiki uses?

Both I assume.
Mine's done, I may edit it if I can think up some more stuff. It's on Gyarados.

"Rumor is Vaati will add one of you to his friends list and I'll send you a used condom! Fantastic!"
I gave Mack the used condom idea.
You know you guys want it.
Actually you said send a condom. I added the used part.
Also, deadline extended a bit.
Someone make a Platinum differences page, I'd love to see them all :3
Eh.....I would, but I don't have computer access until Sunday night.
More entries or b&.

I can't think of anything to write about that anyone else could do better than I.

Ideas.
Staff: Snorkel, Gamemaster1379, bluaki, Phantom123, Geno
Events: Creation of NSFCD, Shoddy Tourneys, Feud with NS2
Spoof: Resident Evil, Mario, Men in Black, Star Trek
Memes: OVER 9000, bidoof, etc
Pokemon: Heart Gold, bidoof, Ash Ketchum
I'll go make some pokemon pages.
I can't think of anything good to write about that I know enough about.

AHA
HYPOCRITE!
Am I allowed to enter?

I'll work on turning that box at the right into a template once I know how to make templates D=
(Yes, I did copy the style of the box off of Wikipedia)
You're okay to enter blu.
Templates need to get the name:
Template:Whatever as a page. From there it's just html.

I know that much, but there's some extra template-only code when you insert a template with |s like {somebox|first line of info|second line|some more stuff}
And for a table like that, those things are vital to implement.
Hey Blu, how do you do that side image thing? the thing with the Japanese names and symbol and publisher and developer and whatnot?

It's an html table.
Wikipedia typically implements them with templates, but we don't have nearly advanced enough templates for things like tables like that at our wiki.
<table class="infobox" style="float:right; width:264px; font-size:90%; text-align:left;" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3">
<tr><th colspan="2" style="font-size:110%; text-align:center;" class="summary">Title</th></tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">[[File:imagename.jpg|256px|center]]<br />
Image Description</td>
</tr>
<tr style="background:#f0f0f0;">
<td>left column data</td>
<td>right column data</td>
</tr>
...
</table>
For additional rows, copy+paste those four lines before the "..." however many times you want in place of those periods. To make the table have rows of alternating color, remove the "style="background:#f0f0f0;"" part from every other row you add.
Once I get around to learning how to make complex templates, I'll make adding boxes like that easier.
You can change the colors of the rows, of course. #f0f0f0 is the light grey color you see; I only used it because Wikipedia does and I didn't feel like changing it for any reason (come to think of it, maybe I should make it silver/gold alternating for that page).
I should try something like that.
We just got done learning about tables in my web publishing class.

The man, the myth, the legend.
Sadly, all I know how to do on wikipedia is slightly adjust things...
:(
Copy someones article and then adjust it to match what you want.
I did an article on one of our latest trends, Shoddy. :P

Announcing a new prize.
Whoever does a page on VaatixGanon to my liking will get to choose the contents of my last post on NSFCD. I have the option of ignoring any submissions I don't like, including all of them if need be.
I'm in.
Someone write an article about me.
Hm. I might give it a try, I guess.

Why don't you write an article about yourself?
I'm declaring this dead.
Oh btw Jr was the only one to follow all of the rules. He wins.
