Tomorrow(Tuesday), I have to be Lord Capulet in Romeo & Juliet for a play. :/
Ah, well. The whole script, with everyone's lines, is barely a page. :)
Which brings me to the point of this.
How do you feel about presentations, plays, etc?
Presentations I'm indifferent about. But I hate to act. It makes me the center of attention, and I know I suck at it...ugh. >_<
I'm the opposite of you. I love acting, but I suck at speaking presentations.
I evidently have an awesome voice, so I normally get told to read in class. Doesn't bother me, I like speaking. Acting is just speaking and moving, so yeah. Acting also gives me the chance to make a fool of myself ^_^
Public speaking is easy, I've spoken in front of my whole school before without preparing anything.
Acting, I like it but I suck at it. I'm in two class plays currently.
I'm okay at public speaking. It's not my favorite thing to do, but still...
Acting, on the other hand, is my passion. I've been in multiple plays/musicals. I don't think I'm that good at acting, either, but a lot of people have come up to me after performances telling me that I was good. So, I don't really know.
Can't wait for next year's play and musical. The Fall play will be a Midsummer Night's Dream, and the Spring musical will be Les Miserables. Both are full of major win.
I'm good at presenting.
But I suck at rehearsing.
I suck at communication.
plays suck horribly
Im much better at preparing presentations than, say.......acting, but once Im up on stage, everything just plays out
sorry, that was bad :(
I hate acting and speaking.
It's usually in front of people.
People are weird.
Public speaking kinda sucks, I'd rather be doing something on stage like acting or something than just... Talking. But I do it if I must.
I'd say I'm good with acting and stuff though, I've had a vocal coach, acting coach, dancing coach and everything, being up on stage is no problem for me. I prefer performing to a play or something, though.
I have excellent charisma skills, and have no personal sense of shame, so I love to act. I can speak well in front of groups, and can equally do what would normally embarrass any person without much of a problem.
In class, I was always Romeo, Macbeth, and Hamlet. On stage I was Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors, Charlie Brown, Leo Bloom, and numerous SNL/MAD TV characters (Jim Carrey's Parnell was particularly fun.)
My class was acting out some scenes from Romeo and Juliet the other day and I played Romeo and I enjoyed it. Presentations don't really bother me, but if I don't really have much to say, then it tends to get a bit weird.
I'm better when I know what I'm going to say, because when I'm asked to improvise I either stumble over my words because I think faster than I talk, or if it's improv comedy, I end up resorting to shock comedy or total absurdity.
So I'm good with acting, especially voice acting I suppose because I'm part of my school's forensic speech team :3
