According to some NeoGAF scans of Nintendo Power, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is comming overseas to North America(hopefully).

It looks pretty legit to me. If this turns out to be true, I will be especially excited to buy this game in attempt to fill the gap that MvC2 formed. :D
Fuck yes
That is confirmation enough for me.

Same, took long enough. But I'm still happy none the less. Probably a holiday release I'm guessing.
I'm just fearing the horribly dubbed anime cutscenes... (which in itself is pointless, anyone who's going to care will probably rather watch it in japanese with subtitles).
I'm just glad I'll be able to play this game, it looks awesome.
I'm so using
Viewtiful Joe, Roll and Megaman Volnutt when I get that game. :D
I guess I might use the Ryu and Bastu combo.

Some more confirmation. Or something.
Waste of $50.
They're already re-releasing a far superior game in the VS. series, not sure why'd they'd even bother with this game. I don't know half of the characters, that makes me care Capcom, it really does.

It's because most of Tatsunoko's stuff is Japan only. But hey, most people know the Gatchaman (or G-Force, or Battle of the Planets, depending on decade it was released).
And not a waste of fifty bucks. Other than smash bros is there a single fighting game on the Wii that's worth buying? I didn't think so... X_X
Capcom said that there are going to be some changes to the Tatsunoko roster for the us version and maybe they'll add wifi.

Honestly, it may open doors to characters and series we don't have/know. Look at Smash Bros and Fire Emblem. Hell, Stafy is getting a shot here for the same reason. I'm quite sure we may see more Tatsunoku titles here if this does well, which makes me hope.

I hope they don't remove anyone from there. All the endings for each character must be there.

Tatsunoko is an animation company, not a game company.
If you're referring to the anime titles coming over seas and airing on US television, well...that would be interesting, but I'm pretty set as far as anime goes. Not sure if I'd care.

Now I'm going to squeal. XD
...But which character from the Tatsunoko side did they take out?
Hakushon Daimaō got removed from what I heard. Didn't care for him much.
Now all I need is a release date. It's coming out this winter. ;-;

TvC won an award for best fighting game at E3 knocking out KOF12, Tekken 6, and MvC2.

MvC2 is a re-release, think here.
KOF12 looks amazing, don't know how the hell it didn't win any awards.
Tekken has always been bland, with uninteresting gameplay and uninteresting characters.
MvC2 is still the superior game to TvC, that's my bet. Not saying the game is bad or anything, but I'm still not convinced MvC2 can be overshadowed just yet. Not to mention the roster looks bland, with over half of the roster being characters most people don't know. I'm still wondering why in the hell they chose Tatsunoko over say, Toei. I'll admit I'll probably pick it up when the price drops.
Wasn't this shown at E3? I thought i saw a video where a guy played as viewtiful joe and mega man

VJ and Mega Man Volnutt

VJ and Mega Man Volnutt
I hate Volnutt's design, but I guess Capcom has to advertise all the megaman's somehow X_X;;
I'm glad VJ made it in, he is an otaku freak after all XD
Listening to Roll's theme that was remixed for this game. Still the best song in the game.
He's in the game because he's Japan's favorite Mega Man for some unexplainable reason that is probably tied to the same reason why the japanese obsess over cute things and why they play dating sims.
Really though, there hasn't been a console Mega Man game since X8 not counting Mega Man 9 and Inufune's excuse is just ridiculous. You can get a budget for Dead Rising 2 but not a full fledged next-gen Mega Man game? Right. They could pull of a great Legends 3 if they wanted to.
All that aside, I'm actually going to get this game now. It probably won't be for a few months, but it's a must.
I'm getting it because outside of Smash Bros. the Wii has no worthwhile fighting games. Not to mention WiiWare/VC isn't getting MvC2 in a little bit. But luckily I have the PS3.
I have no idea why they like that Megaman either. I actually have Legends 2 on the PS1 (and since my PS3 is the early 60GB model, I get full backwards compatibility), and could never get into it. I only liked the original series and X games.
Good 'ol Inafking **his original coder alias in the original games** hasn't been the same since the SNES frankly. Not saying the later X games were bad, but it seems like he lost his touch after all the games went to the PS1/N64. But yea, Megaman is one of the most well known game characters ever and they can't even attempt a next gen Megaman game?
The X games for me rank like this
3>2>1>4>5>8>6>7
3 was the height of the series and as fun as 4 was, it just didn't feel right at times. Didn't help that X sounded like the original Mega Man in that game. The voice acting(X's anyways) started to get tolerable when they got the guy that did Domon in G Gundam to do X.
I remember this interview about a year ago, I can't remember what mag it was from, but it was with Inufune and I distinctly remember him saying that Mega Man works best on handhelds nowadays and that it would be too costly to do a console Mega Man game because he isn't as popular as he used to be. While that may be true, he's probably basing most of that assumption off of the Battle Network and Star Force series. I mean, when it isn't broke, don't fix it, and that's why we love the original and X games. But the BN and SF series just got boring.
Next-Gen Mega man game Inufune, we need one.
Considering that we haven't gotten a console game in so long, it's at least worth a shot. It's not like Capcom is short on funds. All in all they're one of the most stable gaming companies in Japan, alongside Nintendo, SEGA, and Konami.
Inafking doesn't seem to understand that the recent series are the reason Megaman hasn't been as popular the last few generations. I mean, really. Back in the day, Megaman was just as recognizable as Mario and Sonic. I never played the BN and SF games, as I heard they were long, boring, and frankly not good.
I like X's later voice. G Gundam has a very underrated dub, even if the script is pretty bad, I don't fault the VA's.
What I'm interested in is how well this game does. After the initial sales numbers came out, rumors surfaced of a sequel, or even Shonen Jump getting into the mix, especially after how well the two DS Jump games were. But I doubt that'll happen with Capcom, as having an American release would be near impossible.
I'm just glad we get both MvC2 and TvC in the same calendar year. Epic win for the US.
I wonder if Japan ever got MvC and if they did, did they like it? I would assume the Japanese at least know who Spider-Man and the X-Men are.
The Battle Network series was pretty good actually, one of the best series of games on the Game Boy, ever. It's just, after the third, things starting getting a little bizarre plotwise. The Star Force series however is just completely unecessary and while the gameplay isn't necessarily bad, all it is really is in essence is Battle Network, and Capcom hasn't gotten that while the BN games were good, we wanted them to end.
Of course Japan got MvC, and actually super heroes like Spider Man are pretty popular over there(not like Goku popular or anything, but still well known). As a matter of fact, there was an ad in one of the new Spider-Man comics I bought a few weeks back and there is this new manga that Stan Lee and the guy that made Shaman King are making called Ultimo.
I agree with what's been said. MegaMan 9 did well, so hopefully it'll lead to some good stuff. Hopefully. There's this "Shin Rockman" thing that started off new Boss Contests. Maybe something will happen at TGS...
As for Trigger, I'm guessing they didn't go with Original because of Roll or something. Why they didn't go with X or something is another question, though. Capcom seems to like to tease everyone with the Legends series. :\
The SF series is apparently over with 3. I enjoyed it, but I far prefer the platformers.
also, here's my weird view on most of the X and Original series:
Awesome Good Okay Why
2>3>5=X4>9 7>X6>X1=X1 4=X3>X5>1 8>6
X6 used to be hated by me, but I rather enjoyed playing through it recently. Also, X7+8 are left out because I haven't played them.
The games in the "okay" tier were good games: they mostly didn't make have as much fun as the previous tiers. If that makes any sense. Probably doesn't.
also, here's a redub of that X4 scene featuring CM and X8's Zero: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf-JE2FKD-k
Mega Man 8 is pretty good, wtf.
Ah, again with the overrating of Mega Man 2....its probably the best in the Original series but the first three X games took everything that made Mega Man fun in the first place and pumped it all full of roids. Opinions are opinions though.
As for Mega Man X7 and X8, I would advise you to not play 7, its probably the worst game in the X series. Granted there were some enjoyable moments that I had with the game, but unless you can find it cheap I'd suggest you'd stay away and save your money. X8 however is pretty fun and I suggest that you get it sometime.
X8 is just, strange compared to the other ones. At least it has decent voice acting (Domon Kasshu for Megaman X!), at least it didn't have X4's voices X_X;;
MM2 is almost too easy once you know what's coming. I can speed run that game in less than half an hour. MM3 I think is slightly better.
8 didn't interest me much, and found that I was more annoyed than having fun.
Most of the placement of the games were affected by how much fun I had while playing: games I was uninterested in, like 6 were lower than ones that I found pretty fun, like 5. Though, one can wonder by my list just what I find "fun" and "boring".
I'l have to play X7 and X8 for the sake of completion one day. The latter I was able to play through a PC demo, at least, so there's some hope or something there.
