Title: OH, IT'S SO LONG
Post by: Doodle on May 29, 2009, 02:53:02 AM
...and boring. :|
Two hours of the day at school involve sitting through a Senior assembly, where they give speeches and try to entertain us but fail at it.

So, when was the last time you had to sit through some kind of assembly/speech/etc. that was extremely boring?

We (we being the entire high school) had to sit through some guy talk about school buses and how to get out of them. For some reason it took like 45 minutes to explain all that.

Everyone booed him, then some random dude shouted "DOUCHE BAG!"

No, that isn't what she said, dippoop.

Anyways, last assembly I had to sit through was at the beginning at the school year, and it was the assembly where the principal goes over the school rules and consequences. One hour of basic rules that everyone already knows.

Home due to exemptions. :)

Last assembly was yesterday, voting for student body class offices.

Our Black History program. It sucked so much ass. The only good part was when we had some guest singers sing for us, but the worst part was when they their own Tyler Perry Madea skit when Madea could talk to dead black heroes apprently. She was asked to contact Ray Charles and then she said "Well you know he's blind and it takes him a while to get here.". Now, this joke was already in bad taste. What made it worse was that one of our guest singers was blind.

tl;dr My school fails.

Does sitting in a gym in another building waiting for the district to do something with us while there is a fire in our school count?

When my school band plays at the graduation, I have to sit for two and a half hours and watch the show from a bad perspective until we play. Fun.

Uhh..  had to be back in high school, there was one of them.. what do you call it, Spirit Rallies?  Where it's all school spirit and poop.
I never attended one of those before, and all the assemblies we had were optional.  If you didn't want to go, you didn't have to.

I wanted to shoot myself in the head.  They had people who thought they could sing, annoying chants, and some fatass almost knocked me over the bleachers with his ass.
I can't even remember how I was dragged into the place.

Kinda funny that anyone had any spirit for the school.  That place was Crap City.

the year before I entered high school (well, grade 10), they decided that exemptions are lame for some reason, so we didn't get to exempt anything.

our student council in high school did jack poop the entire year.

We got to sit in two separate churches for four separate bomb threats.

You'd think that if there actually was a bomber, they would be smart enough to threaten to bomb the school, then bomb the church that we were told (and forced) to evacuate to.  Dumbasses.

I went to a spirit rally once in grade 10.  They had one other one later that year, then never again to my knowledge.

Thing is, there is only one other high school in the area, and it's the christian high school, which is completely separate.  They aren't even competitive.  It was just a intercourse in waste of time.

Even the cheerleaders were bored.  They did the same thing over and over again for an hour lol

Actually, yesterday I was in a board meeting for the school district that involved the gutting of our magnet programs. The meeting lasted from 5:30 PM to 1:39 AM. Though I must admit, I was entertained by the discussion until some jackass trustee took the floor and... well, you had to be there.

Today. And I was the one giving the presentation.

I was tasked with presenting a lovely show to the Grade 9's and 10's about course selection, pre-requisites, etc. Giant waste of time for me, but hey.

Eh, this one assembly we had in March that forced us to sit through 2 hours of nothing (that's all it was.  There was no point).  "oh, look, let's go ahead and turn a few announcements into an assembly that we will bore our students to death in!"
